2. Package Contents

3. Components
3.1. Transmitter
The transmitter unit features a hot shoe mount for attachment to your camera, a shutter release button for camera control, and a mode switch to select between 'Flash', 'Camera', or 'Off' functions. It also contains a battery compartment for the 23A 12V battery.
3.2. Receiver
Each receiver unit includes a hot shoe mount for attaching a flash unit, a cold shoe mount for securing to a light stand, a sync port for wired connections to studio lights, and a mode switch for 'Flash', 'Camera', or 'Off' functions. The battery compartment accommodates two AAA 1.5V batteries.

4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
- Transmitter: Open the battery compartment and insert the provided 23A 12V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Receivers: Open the battery compartment on each receiver and insert two AAA 1.5V batteries, observing correct polarity.
4.2. Mounting the Transmitter
Slide the transmitter onto your camera's hot shoe. Ensure it is securely seated.
4.3. Connecting for Wireless Shutter Release
If using the wireless shutter release function, connect one of the provided wired transmitter cables from the JF-U2 transmitter to your camera's remote control port.

4.4. Mounting the Receiver
- For Flash: Slide your external flash unit onto the receiver's hot shoe.
- For Studio Light: Connect the receiver to your studio light via a sync cable using the receiver's sync port.
- Mounting: The receiver can be mounted on a light stand using its integrated cold shoe or stand mount.

5. Operating Modes
5.1. Power On/Off
To power on a unit, slide its mode switch to either the 'Flash' or 'Camera' position. To power off, slide the switch to the 'Off' position.
5.2. Wireless Flash Triggering
- Ensure both the transmitter and all receivers are powered on and their mode switches are set to the 'Flash' position.
- Mount the transmitter onto your camera's hot shoe.
- Attach your external flash units to the receivers' hot shoes, or connect receivers to studio lights via sync cables.
- Press your camera's shutter button to wirelessly trigger the connected flash units.
5.3. Wireless Camera Shutter Release
- Ensure the transmitter is powered on and its mode switch is set to the 'Camera' position.
- Connect the wired transmitter cable from the transmitter to your camera's remote control port.
- Press the button on the transmitter: a half-press will activate your camera's autofocus, and a full-press will trigger the shutter release.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the units dry and clean. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Remove batteries from all units if storing for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Avoid exposing the units to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or strong magnetic fields.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the units yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel.
7. Troubleshooting
- Units not firing:
- Check that all batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge.
- Ensure both the transmitter and receiver(s) are powered on.
- Verify that the mode switches on both the transmitter and receiver(s) are set to the correct function ('Flash' or 'Camera').
- Limited Range or Misfires:
- Replace batteries in both transmitter and receivers.
- Ensure there are no significant obstructions between the transmitter and receiver(s).
- Minimize potential sources of radio interference.
- No TTL (Through The Lens) Support: This system operates in manual mode only. Flash power must be adjusted manually on your flash unit.
- Sync Speed Limitations: The maximum flash sync speed is determined by your camera, typically around 1/250s. High-Speed Sync (HSS) is not supported by this system.
