Setup

1. Powering the Remote Sensor

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote sensor.
  2. Insert 2 x AAA (IEC LR3) 1.5V batteries, observing polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment.

2. Powering the Main Unit

  1. Insert 2 x AA (IEC LR6) 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment for backup power (optional, but recommended).
  2. Connect the provided AC/DC adapter to the main unit's power input and then to a wall outlet. The display will light up.

3. Sensor Placement

Place the remote sensor in a shaded, dry location outdoors, away from direct sunlight and rain, to ensure accurate temperature readings. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that could interfere with the wireless signal. The maximum transmission range is typically 30 meters (100 feet) in open air.

4. Initial Synchronization

Once both units are powered, the main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the remote sensor and receive the radio-controlled time signal. This process may take a few minutes. Ensure both units are within range of each other.

Operating Instructions

Display Overview

The color LCD display shows various information:

  • Indoor Temperature
  • Outdoor Temperature (from remote sensor)
  • Weather Forecast Icons (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rainy)
  • Radio-Controlled Time (hours, minutes, seconds)
  • Date and Day of the Week
  • Max/Min Temperature Memory
  • Low Battery Indicator for both units

Setting Time and Date

The clock is radio-controlled and should automatically set itself. If manual adjustment is needed (e.g., in areas with poor signal):

  1. Press and hold the "MODE" button (or similar, refer to specific button labels on the device) for 3 seconds to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the "UP" or "DOWN" buttons to adjust the flashing value (e.g., hour, minute, year, month, day).
  3. Press "MODE" again to confirm and move to the next setting.
  4. Press "MODE" repeatedly to exit setting mode.

Temperature Display

The main display shows current indoor and outdoor temperatures.

Maximum/Minimum Temperature Memory: Press the "MEM" button (or similar) to view the recorded maximum and minimum temperatures for indoor and outdoor. Press again to clear the memory.

Weather Forecast

The weather station analyzes atmospheric pressure changes to predict weather conditions for the next 12-24 hours. The forecast is represented by intuitive icons on the display. Note that this is a prediction and may not always be 100% accurate.

Time Projection

The SHUTTLE features a projection arm that can display the current time onto a wall or ceiling.

  1. Adjust the angle of the projection arm to direct the time display.
  2. Press the "PROJECT" button (or similar) to activate/deactivate the projection.
  3. Rotate the lens on the projection arm to adjust focus.

Backlight

The color LCD display has an adjustable backlight. Press the "LIGHT" button (or similar) to cycle through brightness levels or to turn the backlight off.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display for either the main unit or the remote sensor, replace the batteries promptly.

  • Main Unit: 2 x AA (IEC LR6) 1.5V batteries.
  • Remote Sensor: 2 x AAA (IEC LR3) 1.5V batteries.

Always replace all batteries in a set with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

Cleaning

Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting

  • No display on main unit: Ensure the AC/DC adapter is properly connected and plugged in. Check if AA backup batteries are inserted correctly.
  • Outdoor temperature not displayed or incorrect:
    • Check batteries in the remote sensor.
    • Ensure the remote sensor is within range of the main unit.
    • Relocate the sensor to avoid interference.
    • Manually re-synchronize by removing batteries from both units, then reinserting them first in the sensor, then in the main unit.
  • Time not setting automatically:
    • Ensure the main unit is placed away from sources of interference (e.g., TVs, computers).
    • Try placing the unit near a window for better signal reception.
    • Manually set the time if the radio signal is consistently weak.
  • Projection unclear or not visible:
    • Adjust the focus ring on the projection lens.
    • Ensure the room is sufficiently dark.
    • Check the angle of the projection arm.
