Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tail cap counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
  2. Insert one 1.5V AA battery (Alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable) with the positive (+) end facing towards the flashlight head. The Archer 1A is also compatible with 14500 Li-ion batteries for higher output.
  3. Screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is fully tightened. Ensure the tail cap is securely fastened to maintain waterproofing.

6. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • To Turn On: Fully press the tactical tail switch until it clicks.
  • To Turn Off: Fully press the tactical tail switch again until it clicks.
  • Momentary On: Lightly press and hold the tail switch for momentary illumination. Release to turn off.

Changing Brightness Modes

The Archer 1A features multiple brightness levels: Firefly, Low, Medium, High, and Strobe.

  • With the flashlight turned on, twist the bezel (the front part of the head) to cycle through the modes: Firefly → Low → Medium → High.
  • Strobe Mode: From any mode, press and hold the side switch for approximately 1 second to activate Strobe mode. To exit Strobe, release the side switch and twist the bezel.

Memory Function

The Archer 1A includes a memory function. When the flashlight is turned off and then back on, it will automatically return to the last used general mode (Firefly, Low, Medium, or High). Strobe mode is not memorized.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • Threads and O-rings: Periodically lubricate the threads and O-rings with silicone grease to ensure smooth operation and maintain waterproofing. Replace worn O-rings with the provided spares.
  • Battery Storage: If the flashlight is not used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent potential leakage and damage to the flashlight.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ThruNite Archer 1A, please try the following steps:

  • Light not turning on:
    • Ensure the battery is inserted correctly with the positive (+) end towards the head.
    • Check if the battery has sufficient charge. Replace or recharge if necessary.
    • Ensure the tail cap is fully tightened. A loose tail cap can prevent electrical contact.
    • Clean the battery contacts and threads with an alcohol swab to remove any dirt or corrosion.
  • Light flickering or inconsistent output:
    • Check battery charge and replace if low.
    • Ensure the tail cap and head are securely tightened.
    • Clean the battery contacts and threads.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact ThruNite customer support.
