4. Product Overview

This image displays the Tchibo LCD Wireless Weather Station, featuring a large LCD screen showing indoor/outdoor temperature, humidity, time, and weather forecast. The main unit is white with a silver base. The packaging is visible in the background, along with a small image of the outdoor sensor.
The Tchibo LCD Wireless Weather Station provides accurate indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings, a radio-controlled clock, an alarm function, and a weather forecast display. The main unit features a clear LCD display, while the compact outdoor sensor transmits data wirelessly.
5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Main Unit: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2x AA, not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-). Close the cover securely.
- Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert the required batteries (e.g., 2x AAA, not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-). Close the cover securely.
5.2 Sensor Placement
- Place the outdoor sensor in a sheltered location, away from direct sunlight and rain, to ensure accurate temperature and humidity readings.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is within the wireless range of the main unit (typically up to 30 meters in open air). Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electrical appliances that may interfere with the signal.
- The outdoor sensor is suitable for wall mounting.
5.3 Initial Synchronization
After installing batteries in both units, the main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor and receive the radio-controlled time signal (DCF77). This process may take several minutes. Once synchronized, the outdoor temperature/humidity and the correct time will be displayed.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Display Information
The LCD display shows the following information:
- Indoor Temperature and Humidity: Current readings inside your home.
- Outdoor Temperature and Humidity: Current readings from the wireless outdoor sensor.
- Time and Date: Radio-controlled time and calendar display.
- Weather Forecast: Graphical representation of expected weather conditions (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rainy).
- Alarm Status: Indication if the alarm is active.
6.2 Setting Time and Date (Manual Override)
While the device is radio-controlled, manual adjustments may be necessary in certain regions or if the signal is weak. Refer to the buttons on the back or side of the main unit (e.g., MODE, SET, UP, DOWN) to manually set the time, date, and time zone. Consult the specific button functions printed on the device or in the quick start guide for precise steps.
6.3 Alarm Function
To set the alarm:
- Press the ALARM button (or similar, depending on model) to enter alarm setting mode.
- Use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the hour and minute.
- Press the ALARM or SET button again to confirm and activate the alarm.
- To deactivate the alarm, press the ALARM button until the alarm icon disappears from the display.
6.4 Weather Forecast
The weather station analyzes atmospheric pressure changes to predict upcoming weather conditions. The forecast icons (e.g., sun, clouds, rain) indicate the trend for the next 12-24 hours. This is a prediction and may not always be 100% accurate.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the main unit and outdoor sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in the respective unit (main unit or outdoor sensor) as described in Section 5.1. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time with new ones of the same type.
8. Troubleshooting
- No outdoor temperature/humidity display:
- Check if the outdoor sensor batteries are correctly inserted or need replacement.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is within range and not obstructed by large metal objects.
- Try re-synchronizing by removing and reinserting batteries in both units.
- Incorrect time display:
- Ensure the main unit is placed in an area with good reception for the radio-controlled signal.
- Manually set the time if the radio signal is consistently weak or unavailable.
- Display is blank or dim:
- Replace the batteries in the main unit.
