1. Introduction and Overview

2. Setup
2.1. Battery Installation
The Beurer FT 65 thermometer requires 2 x 1.5 V AAA batteries (LR03), which are included with the device. To install or replace batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.
2.2. Initial Settings (Date, Time, Unit)
Upon first use or after battery replacement, you may need to set the date, time, and measurement unit (°C/°F).
- With the device off, press and hold the 'On/Off' button for a few seconds until the display shows the year flashing.
- Use the 'Scan' button to adjust the year. Press the 'On/Off' button to confirm and move to the next setting (month, day, hour, minute).
- Repeat the process for month, day, hour, and minute.
- After setting the time, the unit of measurement (°C or °F) will flash. Use the 'Scan' button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Press the 'On/Off' button to confirm.
- The device will then be ready for use.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Ear Temperature Measurement
This mode is suitable for quick and accurate body temperature measurement in the ear canal.
- Ensure the protective cap is removed from the measurement tip.
- Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the thermometer. The display will show the last reading.
- Gently insert the measurement tip into the ear canal. For children under 1 year, pull the ear slightly backward. For children over 1 year and adults, pull the ear slightly upward and backward.
- Press the 'Scan' button. A short beep indicates the start of measurement.
- The measurement is complete when a long beep sounds and the temperature is displayed. The LED will light up green for normal temperature or red for fever (above 38°C / 100.4°F).
- Remove the thermometer from the ear.

3.2. Forehead Temperature Measurement
This mode is ideal for non-contact measurement of body temperature on the forehead.
- Ensure the protective cap is on the measurement tip.
- Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the thermometer.
- Hold the thermometer with the measurement tip approximately 2-3 cm from the center of the forehead, between the eyebrows.
- Press the 'Scan' button. A short beep indicates the start of measurement.
- Slowly move the thermometer across the forehead towards the temple.
- The measurement is complete when a long beep sounds and the temperature is displayed. The LED will light up green for normal temperature or red for fever.
- Remove the thermometer from the forehead.

3.3. Surface Temperature Measurement (Objects/Liquids)
This mode allows for measuring the surface temperature of various objects and liquids, such as baby bottles or bath water.
- Ensure the protective cap is on the measurement tip.
- Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the thermometer.
- Hold the thermometer with the measurement tip approximately 2-3 cm from the surface of the object or liquid.
- Press the 'Scan' button. A short beep indicates the start of measurement.
- The measurement is complete when a long beep sounds and the temperature is displayed. The LED will not light up in this mode as it is not for body temperature.
3.4. Memory Function
The thermometer automatically stores the last 10 temperature readings. To recall these readings:
- With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the 'Scan' button for a few seconds.
- The last measurement will be displayed first.
- Press the 'Scan' button repeatedly to cycle through the previous 10 readings.
4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures accurate readings and extends the life of your thermometer.
- The measurement tip is the most sensitive part. Clean it carefully after each use with a cotton swab or cloth moistened with 70% alcohol.
- Do not use harsh cleaning agents or immerse the thermometer in water.
- Clean the rest of the device with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
4.2. Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- If the thermometer will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
