Setup

  1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection: Carefully remove the timer from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage.
  2. Battery Installation/Backup: The timer includes a battery backup system to retain settings during power outages. Ensure the battery is properly seated. If the display is blank or shows a low battery indicator, replace the battery as per the Maintenance section.
  3. Setting Current Time and Day:
    • Press the MODE button until the time setting mode is active.
    • Use the rotary dial or appropriate buttons (refer to specific unit markings) to adjust the hour, minute, and day of the week.
    • Press OK to confirm each setting.
  4. Daylight Saving Time (DST) Adjustment: The DAT100 features an automatic Daylight Saving Time option. Consult the timer's display or specific instructions for enabling or disabling this feature.
  5. Mounting/Plugging In: Plug the timer directly into a standard grounded electrical outlet. Ensure it is securely seated.

Operating Instructions

The DAT100 timer offers flexible programming for various applications.

  1. Understanding the Display: The large LCD screen shows the current time, day, and active program status. A low battery indicator may also appear here.
  2. Programming On/Off Cycles (Up to 28 Settings):
    • Press the PROG button to enter programming mode.
    • The display will show "PROG 1 ON". Use the rotary dial or buttons to set the desired ON time for the first program.
    • Press OK to confirm. Then set the days of the week for this program (e.g., Mon-Fri, daily, specific days).
    • Repeat for "PROG 1 OFF" time.
    • Continue this process for up to 28 distinct ON/OFF programs.
    • Press MODE to exit programming mode.
  3. Dusk-to-Dawn Feature: This timer can automatically adjust its ON/OFF times based on local sunrise and sunset. Refer to the specific instructions for enabling and configuring this feature, which typically involves selecting a "Dusk-to-Dawn" or "Astronomical" mode.
  4. Manual Override: The ON/OFF button allows for manual control, overriding the current program. Pressing it will toggle the connected appliance between ON and OFF states. The timer will resume its programmed schedule at the next scheduled event.
  5. Connecting Appliances: Plug your appliance(s) into the two grounded receptacles on the timer. Ensure the total load does not exceed the timer's maximum rating (15A/1800W).
