Setup

  1. Install Battery: The Accu-Chek Nano meter uses a Lithium battery. Open the battery compartment on the back of the meter and insert the battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  2. Set Time and Date: Upon first use or after battery replacement, the meter may prompt you to set the time and date. Follow the on-screen instructions using the navigation buttons.
  3. Prepare Lancing Device:
    • Insert a new Accu-Chek FastClix lancet drum into the lancing device.
    • Select the appropriate penetration depth setting for your skin type (11 customizable settings available).
  4. No Coding Required: The Accu-Chek Nano meter does not require manual coding, simplifying the setup process.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to perform a blood glucose test:

  1. Wash and Dry Hands: Use warm, soapy water to wash your hands thoroughly. Dry them completely.
  2. Insert Test Strip: Remove an Accu-Chek SmartView test strip from its vial and immediately close the vial cap tightly. Insert the metallic end of the test strip into the meter. The meter will turn on automatically.
  3. Obtain Blood Sample: Use the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device to obtain a drop of blood from your fingertip. Press the lancing device firmly against the side of your fingertip and press the release button.
  4. Apply Blood Sample: Gently touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. Do not apply blood to the top of the strip. The meter will draw the blood into the strip.
  5. Read Result: Your blood glucose result will appear on the display in approximately 5 seconds.
  6. Remove and Dispose: Remove the used test strip from the meter. Dispose of the used test strip and lancet according to local regulations.
