2.2 Physical Installation
Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Connect the necessary cables as described below.
- Connect your internet source (e.g., modem) to the WAN port (X1) on the Sonicwall TZ105 using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect a computer or network switch to one of the LAN ports (X0, X2, X3, X4) using an Ethernet cable.
- For initial configuration, you may use the Console port with a serial cable (not included) to connect to a computer.

Connect the power adapter to the 12V === 1.5A 18W power input on the rear of the appliance, then plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. The device will begin its startup sequence.

After powering on, access the device's web management interface by opening a web browser on a connected computer and entering the default IP address (refer to the Quick Start Guide for the specific default IP). Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial configuration, including setting up network parameters and administrative credentials.
