3. Setup

Attaching to the MATRIX Power Unit:

  1. Ensure the MATRIX power unit (e.g., BDEDMT or BDCDMT112) is turned off and the battery is removed to prevent accidental startup.
  2. Align the trim saw attachment with the power unit's head. The attachment will slide onto the power unit.
  3. Push the attachment firmly until it clicks securely into place. Verify that it is locked and does not wobble.

Installing/Changing the Blade:

  1. Ensure the power unit is disconnected from its power source (battery removed).
  2. Locate the blade release mechanism on the trim saw attachment.
  3. Press the spindle lock button and use the provided wrench (if applicable) to loosen the blade retaining screw.
  4. Carefully remove the old blade.
  5. Place the new 3-3/8 inch carbide blade onto the spindle, ensuring the teeth are oriented in the correct cutting direction (usually indicated by an arrow on the blade and the saw).
  6. Tighten the blade retaining screw securely while holding the spindle lock button.

Adjusting Depth of Cut:

The trim saw attachment allows for adjustment of the cutting depth. To adjust:

  1. Loosen the depth adjustment lever or knob.
  2. Raise or lower the base plate to achieve the desired cutting depth. Ensure that only a minimal portion of the blade extends below the workpiece.
  3. Tighten the depth adjustment lever or knob firmly to secure the setting.

4. Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off:

To operate the trim saw, ensure a charged BLACK+DECKER 20V Lithium battery is inserted into the MATRIX power unit. The power unit's trigger activates the saw. Some models may have a safety lock-off button that must be pressed before the trigger can be engaged.
