Setup
Before First Use:
- Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
- Wash the removable filter holder, permanent filter, coffee scoop, and ceramic cup in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- For initial cleaning, operate the coffee maker with only water (no coffee grounds) for one cycle. Discard the hot water.
Placement:
Place the coffee maker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from edges and water sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew a single cup of coffee:
- Fill Water Reservoir: Fill the ceramic cup with cold, fresh water up to the desired level (maximum 125 ml). Open the lid of the coffee maker and carefully pour this water into the water reservoir. Do not exceed the 'MAX' fill line indicated inside the reservoir.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent filter into the filter holder. Add one level scoop (approximately 2 teaspoons) of medium-ground coffee into the permanent filter. Do not overfill the filter.
- Close Lid: Close the lid securely. Ensure it clicks into place.
- Position Cup: Place the ceramic cup on the drip tray directly beneath the coffee outlet.
- Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (220-240V). The coffee maker will begin brewing automatically. There is no separate ON/OFF switch.
- Brewing Complete: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch off. The coffee will stop dripping.
- Serve: Carefully remove the cup of hot coffee. Be cautious as the cup and coffee will be hot.
- Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the wall outlet after use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Open the lid and remove the permanent filter and filter holder. Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash the permanent filter, filter holder, coffee scoop, and ceramic cup in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Clean the drip tray and the area around the coffee outlet regularly.
Descaling:
Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descaling should be performed periodically, depending on the hardness of your water and frequency of use.
- Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for coffee makers. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling product.
- Alternatively, you can use a solution of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
- Run the descaling solution through the coffee maker as if brewing coffee (without coffee grounds).
- After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
