4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the inner cooking pan, steamer basket, dew collector, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The main unit should be wiped with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
  4. Assemble: Place the cooking plate at the bottom of the main unit, then insert the clean inner cooking pan. Ensure the dew collector is properly attached.
  5. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the rice cooker and then to a suitable 220-240 volt AC power outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Add to Pan: Place the rinsed rice into the non-stick inner cooking pan.
  3. Add Water: Add the appropriate amount of water. A general guideline is 1 cup of rice to 1.5-2 cups of water, but this may vary based on rice type. Refer to the water level markings inside the inner pan for guidance.
  4. Close Lid: Place the lid securely on the rice cooker. Ensure the steam vent is clear.
  5. Select Function: Plug in the rice cooker. Press the "Cook" switch. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Cooking Process: The rice cooker will automatically switch to the "Warm" function once the rice is cooked. The "Warm" indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Resting Period: For best results, allow the rice to rest on the "Warm" setting for 10-15 minutes after cooking before serving. This allows the rice to absorb remaining moisture and become fluffier.
  8. Serve: Open the lid carefully, avoiding steam. Fluff the rice with a spatula and serve.

5.2 Steaming Food

  1. Add Water: Pour water into the inner cooking pan (do not exceed the maximum water level for steaming).
  2. Prepare Food: Place vegetables, dumplings, or other foods into the steamer basket.
  3. Assemble: Place the steamer basket onto the inner cooking pan.
  4. Close Lid: Securely place the lid on the rice cooker.
  5. Start Steaming: Plug in the rice cooker and press the "Cook" switch. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Monitor: Steam for the recommended time for your food. The cooker will switch to "Warm" when the water boils dry, but it's best to monitor and switch off manually for steaming.
  7. Serve: Carefully remove the lid and steamer basket, avoiding hot steam.

5.3 Using the Warm Function

The rice cooker automatically switches to the "Warm" function after cooking. This function keeps your rice warm and ready to serve for several hours. Do not keep rice on "Warm" for excessively long periods (e.g., more than 4-6 hours) as it may dry out or affect texture.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Inalsa Steam Cook DX rice cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Cooking Pan & Steamer Basket: These are hand wash only. Wash with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as this can damage the non-stick coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Lid & Dew Collector: Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry. Ensure the steam vent is clear of any food particles.
  4. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the rice cooker in a cool, dry place.
