Mounting the Speaker

The BC15 speaker includes a mounting bracket for secure installation. Select a suitable location that allows for optimal sound projection and does not obstruct vehicle controls or safety features. Use the provided hardware to attach the bracket firmly to the desired surface. The speaker can then be angled for best listening.

Connecting the Speaker

The BC15 speaker connects to your communication device via a 3.5mm audio plug. The speaker cable is approximately 10 feet long and features a right-angled plug for easier connection in confined spaces.

  1. Locate the external speaker jack on your scanner, CB radio, or other communication receiver. This is typically labeled as 'EXT SPKR' or 'EXTERNAL SPEAKER'.
  2. Insert the 3.5mm audio plug from the BC15 speaker into the external speaker jack of your device.
  3. Important Note: Do not connect the BC15 speaker to a headphone jack. Headphone jacks provide insufficient power for an external speaker, resulting in very low or no audio output. Always use an external speaker output jack for proper functionality.

Operating Instructions

Audio Output

Once connected to a compatible device's external speaker jack, the BC15 will amplify the audio output. Adjust the volume directly on your communication device to control the speaker's output level.

Noise Reduction Feature

The BC15 features a built-in noise blanker designed to reduce electrical interference, providing clearer audio. This feature helps to filter out static and other unwanted noise, particularly in mobile environments. Activate or deactivate this feature using the switch located on the speaker, if present. Note that activating noise reduction may slightly decrease overall volume.
