Setup

2. Visor System
Clear Visor
The N104 features an ultra-large, optically correct visor that provides a wide field of vision. It offers UV 400 protection. The visor can be changed easily using the simple push-button release mechanism located on the side of the helmet.
Pinlock Anti-Fog Insert
A Pinlock anti-fog insert is included with your helmet. This insert mounts in a recess inside the clear shield and features a silicone seal to prevent fogging, ensuring clear vision in varying conditions.
VPS (Vision Protection System) Sunshield
The internal scratch-resistant and fog-resistant sunshield is operated by a slider located on the lower trim of the helmet. Push the slider down to deploy the sunshield. It can be retracted instantly by pressing the dedicated button next to the slider.
3. Chin Bar Operation
The N104 features a pivoting chin bar with a stainless steel latching mechanism. The patented elliptical trajectory allows the chin bar to move closer to the helmet when open, reducing wind resistance.
To open the chin bar, use the dual-action Centromatic release system. Pull the tab on the underside of the chin bar, then simultaneously squeeze it together with the front tab. This two-step process enhances safety.
To lock the chin bar in the up position, fully raise it until it clicks into place. A dedicated button on the side allows for release when you wish to lower it.
4. Retention System
The helmet is equipped with a Microlock adjustable quick-release retention system. Adjust the strap for a secure and comfortable fit under your chin. The velour chin-strap padding provides additional comfort.
5. N-Com B4 Communication System Preparation
The N104 helmet is designed to accommodate the N-Com B4 Bluetooth communication system. The helmet includes pre-drilled cavities and wire channels for easy installation of this system.
Operating the Helmet
1. Ventilation System (Airbooster)
The Airbooster system channels air from the front intakes through internal tubes to exhaust vents at the back, efficiently dispersing airflow along the crown of the helmet. The forehead vents can be opened independently from the top vents to customize airflow. Chin bar vents are operated by a centrally located slider.
2. Chin Bar Locking Mechanism
When the chin bar is fully raised, it can be locked in the open position for convenience. To release it and lower the chin bar, press the dedicated lock button located on the side of the helmet.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Shell and Visor
- Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Clean the clear visor and VPS sunshield with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals that could damage the coatings.
2. Cleaning the Interior Padding
The four-piece Clima-Comfort padding is fully removable and washable. This padding is wicking, breathable, and treated with natural silver salt for anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. The separate neck roll can also be removed, particularly useful during warmer seasons.
- Carefully remove the padding components.
- Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water.
- Allow to air dry completely before re-installing.
3. Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Chin Strap Discomfort: Ensure the Microlock system is adjusted correctly for your jawline. If persistent, verify the helmet size is appropriate for your head shape.
- Cheek Pad Tightness: New padding may feel snug initially. The Clima-Comfort padding is designed to conform to the user's face over time with use.
- Wind Noise: Modular helmets may exhibit varying levels of wind noise. Ensure all vents and visors are properly closed and sealed. Check for any gaps around the chin curtain or neck roll.
- Limited Ventilation: Ensure all vents (forehead, chin bar) are fully open. Airflow effectiveness can vary based on riding position, speed, and motorcycle fairing design.
- Chin Bar Stuck in Up Position: If the chin bar does not lower, check if the locking button on the side is engaged. Press this button to release the lock, allowing the chin bar to pivot down.
- Forehead Pressure Points: Verify helmet size and fit. The internal padding should distribute pressure evenly across the head. If pressure points persist, the helmet size or shape may not be ideal for your head.
