Operating Instructions

Basic Vocoder Operation

To use the vocoder, connect a microphone (modulator) and an instrument (carrier) or utilize the internal synthesizer. Speak or sing into the microphone while playing your instrument (if using INSTRUMENT CTRL mode) or selecting one of the DRONE modes. The V256 will process your voice based on the carrier signal.

Selecting Modes

Rotate the MODE knob to select your desired vocoder effect (VOX-ROBO 1-3), internal drone type (SINGLE, MAJOR, MINOR DRONE), pitch transposition, instrument control, or Reflex Tune effect.

Adjusting Parameters

Use the BEND, BANDS, TONE, GENDER BENDER, and PITCH knobs to fine-tune the vocoder effect according to your preference. Experiment with these controls to achieve a wide range of sonic results.

Using Reflex Tune

Select the REFLEX-TUNE mode using the MODE knob. Sing into the microphone, and the V256 will apply pitch correction to your vocal signal, creating an auto-tune style effect.

Presets

To save a preset, adjust the controls to your desired settings, then hold down the MODE PUSH PRESET button until the LED flashes. To recall a saved preset, briefly press the MODE PUSH PRESET button.

Microphone Bypass
