2. Safety Information

  • This product is not a toy. Adult supervision is recommended for young children.
  • Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid placing the unit near heat sources such as radiators or stoves.
  • Use only the specified power sources (6 x LR14 batteries or a compatible AC adapter, both not included).
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Dispose of batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

4. Product Overview

Key Components:

  • CD Compartment: Located at the front, for inserting audio CDs.
  • LED Display: Shows track number or function status.
  • POWER Button: Turns the unit on or off.
  • PLAY/PAUSE Button: Starts or pauses CD playback.
  • STOP Button: Stops CD playback.
  • SKIP/SEARCH Buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶): Skips tracks or fast forwards/rewinds within a track.
  • CD VOLUME Knob: Adjusts the playback volume of the CD.
  • MIC VOL Knob: Adjusts the volume of the connected microphones.
  • Microphone Inputs: Ports on the sides for connecting the two microphones.
  • Headphone Jack: For private listening (headphones not included).
  • PROGRAM Button: Allows programming of CD tracks.

5. Setup

5.1 Power Supply

The BigBen CD47 can be powered by batteries or an AC adapter.

Battery Installation:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom or back of the unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 6 x LR14 (C size) batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

AC Adapter Connection (Optional):

  1. Obtain a compatible AC power adapter (not included) with the correct voltage and polarity (refer to specifications).
  2. Plug the AC adapter into the DC IN jack on the unit.
  3. Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet.

Note: When an AC adapter is connected, battery power is automatically disconnected.

5.2 Microphone Connection

  1. Locate the microphone input jacks on the sides of the unit.
  2. Plug the provided microphones into these jacks.

5.3 Headphone Connection (Optional)

  1. Locate the headphone jack on the unit.
  2. Plug your headphones (not included) into this jack for private listening.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. The LED display will light up.
  • Press the POWER button again to turn the unit off.

6.2 CD Playback

  1. Gently press the 'OPEN' area on the CD compartment cover to open it.
  2. Place an audio CD (or MP3 CD, if supported) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the CD compartment cover firmly until it clicks.
  4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (▶/▌▌) to start playback. The LED display will show the track number.
  5. Adjust the CD VOLUME knob to your desired listening level.
  6. To pause playback, press PLAY/PAUSE (▶/▌▌). Press again to resume.
  7. To stop playback, press the STOP (■) button.
  8. To skip to the next track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (▶▶) button.
  9. To go back to the beginning of the current track or to the previous track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button.
  10. To fast forward or rewind within a track, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH (▶▶ or ◀◀) button.

Repeat Function:

  • Press the REPEAT button once to repeat the current track.
  • Press the REPEAT button a second time to repeat the entire CD.
  • Press the REPEAT button a third time to cancel the repeat function.

Program Function:

  1. In STOP mode, press the PROGRAM button. The LED display will show '01'.
  2. Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to select your desired first track.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm the track. The display will show '02'.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more tracks to your program (up to 20 tracks).
  5. After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE button (▶/▌▌) to start playing the programmed sequence.
  6. To clear the program, press the STOP (■) button twice.

6.3 Karaoke Function

  1. Ensure the microphones are securely plugged into their respective jacks.
  2. Start playing a CD as described in section 6.2.
  3. Adjust the MIC VOL knob to control the volume of your voice through the microphones.
  4. Sing along with the music!

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Always disconnect the power source (remove batteries or unplug AC adapter) before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not allow water or liquids to enter the unit.

7.2 CD Care

  • Handle CDs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches.
  • Store CDs in their cases when not in use.
  • Clean dirty CDs with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outwards.

7.3 Storage

  • If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust.

8. Troubleshooting
