3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Panasonic KX-TSC62SXB telephone:
- Connect the Handset: Plug the coiled cord from the handset into the designated jack on the base unit.
- Connect the Line Cord: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the LINE jack on the base unit and the other end into your wall telephone jack.
- Battery Installation (for display functions): The telephone includes a Lithium Polymer battery. Install it in the designated battery compartment, typically located on the underside of the base unit, following the polarity indicators. This battery powers the display for features like Caller ID and time/date display.
- Initial Power-Up: The telephone should power on automatically once connected to the phone line.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Lift the handset or press the SP-PHONE button. Dial the desired number using the alphanumeric keypad.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the SP-PHONE button.
- To End a Call: Place the handset back on the cradle or press the SP-PHONE button again if using speakerphone.
4.2 Speakerphone Function
To use the speakerphone, press the SP-PHONE button during a call. Press it again to switch back to the handset or to end the call.
4.3 Caller ID and Call Log
The telephone stores up to 30 incoming call records. When a call is received, the caller's number (and name, if available) will be displayed.
- Viewing Call Logs: Press the CALLER ID button (up/down arrows) to scroll through the stored call records.
- Redial from Call Log: Select a number from the call log and press the REDIAL button to dial it.
- Clearing Call Logs: Consult the detailed menu instructions in the full user guide for options to clear individual or all call log entries.

4.4 Redial Function
The telephone stores the last 5 dialed numbers. Press the REDIAL button to view and redial these numbers.
4.5 Mute Function
During a call, press the MUTE button to temporarily silence your microphone. The other party will not hear you. Press MUTE again to resume speaking.
4.6 Tone/Pulse Settings
The telephone supports switchable tone and pulse dialing settings. This setting is usually configured during initial setup or can be changed via the menu if required by your telephone line service. Refer to the full user guide for instructions on adjusting this setting.
