- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scourers, as they may damage the surface.
- Ensure the spinner is placed on a stable, flat surface during operation.
- Exercise caution when handling the product, especially when wet, to prevent drops.
Product Components
The OXO Small Straight Salad Spinner consists of three main parts:
- Outer Bowl: The clear container that holds the water spun from the greens.
- Inner Basket (Colander): The perforated basket where greens are placed for washing and spinning.
- Lid: Contains the pump mechanism and brake button.

Setup
- Unpack all components from the packaging.
- Wash all parts (outer bowl, inner basket, and lid) with warm, soapy water before first use. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Place the inner basket inside the outer bowl.
- Position the lid securely on top of the outer bowl, ensuring it is properly aligned and seated.

Operating Instructions
- Prepare Greens: Wash your greens or vegetables thoroughly under running water.
- Load Basket: Place the washed greens into the inner basket. Do not overfill.
- Secure Lid: Place the lid onto the outer bowl, ensuring it is securely closed.
- Spin: Press the large, soft knob on the lid repeatedly to start the spinning action. The basket will rotate rapidly, using centrifugal force to remove water from the greens.
- Brake: To stop the spinning action immediately, press the brake button located on the side of the lid.
- Remove Greens: Once the greens are dry, unlock the knob (if locked for storage), remove the lid, and lift out the inner basket. Your greens are now ready for use.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning will ensure the longevity and hygiene of your salad spinner.
- Disassembly: The lid can be disassembled for thorough cleaning. Refer to the product diagram for how to detach the inner lid components.
- Washing: All parts (outer bowl, inner basket, and lid components) can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. The inner basket is also dishwasher safe.
- Drying: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.
- Reassembly: Reassemble the lid components and place the inner basket back into the outer bowl.

Storage
For compact storage, the pump knob on the lid can be locked down. This allows for easier stacking of other items on top of the spinner or storage in tighter spaces.
- To lock the knob: Press the knob down completely and then slide the locking tab (if present) to secure it in the down position.
- To unlock the knob: Slide the locking tab back to its original position, and the knob will pop up.
- The outer bowl can also be used for storing washed greens in the refrigerator.

Troubleshooting
- Spinner not spinning: Ensure the lid is securely placed on the bowl and the pump mechanism is not locked. Check for any obstructions in the spinning mechanism.
- Greens not drying sufficiently: Do not overfill the basket. Spin for a longer duration or perform multiple short spins. Ensure the greens are not excessively wet before placing them in the spinner.
- Lid difficult to remove/attach: Ensure the lid is aligned correctly with the bowl. If the knob is locked down, unlock it before attempting to remove or attach the lid.
