Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Profoto RFi 1x6 Softbox:

1. Attach the Speedring: If not already attached, secure the appropriate Profoto speedring adapter to your flash head or light source. Ensure it is firmly locked in place.
2. Insert Support Rods: Lay the softbox fabric flat. Insert the support rods into the designated color-coded pockets on the softbox fabric. Guide the other end of each rod into the corresponding holes on the speedring. Apply gentle pressure until all rods are securely seated and the softbox takes its shape.
3. Attach Inner Diffuser: Secure the inner diffuser to the internal Velcro strips within the softbox. This diffuser helps to create a more even light spread.
4. Attach Front Diffuser: Attach the front diffuser to the outer edge of the softbox using the Velcro fasteners. Ensure it is taut and smooth for optimal light diffusion.

Operating Instructions

The Profoto RFi 1x6 Softbox is designed to shape and soften light for various photographic applications. Its rectangular shape is ideal for rim lighting, hair lighting, or creating a narrow strip of light.

• Positioning: Mount the assembled softbox onto your light stand or flash unit. Adjust the height and angle to achieve the desired lighting effect.
• Light Output: The high-efficiency silver lining maximizes light output and ensures even illumination across the entire front diffuser.
• Optional Softgrid: For more precise light shaping and to control light spill, an optional Softgrid can be attached to the front of the softbox (sold separately).
• Compatibility: The RFi softboxes are compatible with all major flash brands when used with the appropriate speedring adapter.

Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior fabric with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. The diffusers can be hand-washed with mild soap and water if necessary, then air-dried.
• Storage: When not in use, disassemble the softbox and store it in its carrying bag to protect it from dust and damage. Avoid folding the diffusers sharply to prevent creases.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the support rods, speedring, and fabric for any signs of wear or damage.
