7.1 Using the EL-Skyport Transmitter (Optional)

For full wireless control, a separate EL-Skyport ELS Speed Transmitter (sold separately) is required. This transmitter allows you to:

  • Control flash power on/off.
  • Adjust modeling light functions.
  • Activate Speed Sync for faster shutter speeds.

9. Maintenance

9.1 Cleaning

Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the flash head. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. For the flash tube and modeling lamp, use a clean, lint-free cloth, avoiding direct contact with bare hands to prevent oil residue.

9.2 Flash Tube Replacement

Flash tubes have a limited lifespan. When replacement is necessary, ensure the unit is unplugged and cooled down. Carefully remove the old flash tube and install a new, compatible Elinchrom flash tube, following the instructions provided with the replacement part.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Flash not firing: Check power connection, ensure the unit is switched on, verify sync cord connection or Skyport transmitter settings.
  • Slow recycling: Ensure the unit is connected to a stable power source. Extremely low power settings may result in faster recycling, while full power requires more time.
  • Modeling lamp not working: Check if the modeling lamp is securely seated and not burnt out. Verify modeling lamp settings on the unit.
  • Overheating: Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. If the unit feels excessively hot, power it off and allow it to cool down before resuming operation.
