4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the NuWave PIC on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The unit will emit a beep and the display will show "OFF".
  4. Cookware Placement: Place an induction-compatible pan (like the one included) centered on the cooking surface. The unit will not operate without compatible cookware.
  5. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the cooking surface and the pan with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are dry before plugging in.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On: With a compatible pan on the cooktop, press the START button. The default temperature setting will appear.
  2. Adjust Temperature: Use the + and - buttons to adjust the temperature in 10°F increments, ranging from 100°F to 575°F (Sear). You can also select pre-programmed settings like Low, Med Low, Med, Med High, High, and Sear.
  3. Set Time: Press the TIME button, then use the + and - buttons to set the desired cooking time (up to 100 hours).
  4. Start Cooking: Once temperature and time are set, the unit will begin heating.
  5. Pause/Clear: Press PAUSE/CLEAR to temporarily stop cooking or to clear the current settings and turn off the unit.

5.2 Programmable Stage Cooking

The NuWave PIC allows for multi-stage cooking, enabling you to program different temperatures and times sequentially.

  1. Enter Program Mode: Press the PROG button.
  2. Set Stage 1: Set the desired temperature and time for the first stage using the +/- and TIME buttons.
  3. Add Next Stage: Press PROG again to move to the next stage. Repeat step 2 for each additional stage. The unit can store up to 100 hours of program memory.
  4. Start Program: Once all stages are programmed, press START to begin the cooking cycle.

The Delay function allows you to set a start time for your cooking program.

  1. Set Cooking Program: First, program your desired cooking stages (temperature and time) as described in Section 5.2.
  2. Activate Delay: After programming, press the DELAY button (if available on your model, otherwise use the TIME button to set a future start).
  3. Set Delay Time: Use the + and - buttons to set the delay time before cooking begins.
  4. Confirm: Press START to activate the delay timer. The unit will begin cooking after the set delay period.
