  1. Gently lift the top cover of the machine. The punching handle will automatically extend upwards.

3. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to punch and bind your documents using the Fellowes Star+ 150.

3.1. Punching Documents

  1. Prepare Documents: Align your paper stack neatly. The machine can punch up to 15 sheets of 80gsm (20lb) paper or 2 PVC sheets (200mic / 8mil) at a time.
  2. Adjust Edge Guide: Use the adjustable edge guide to center your documents for consistent punch alignment. The vertical document loader helps ensure accuracy.
  3. Insert Paper: Place the edge of your paper stack into the punching slot. Ensure the paper is flush against the edge guide.
  4. Punch Holes: Firmly pull the punching handle down to punch the holes. Release the handle to return it to its original position.
  5. Repeat: For larger documents, repeat the punching process in smaller batches until all pages are punched.

3.2. Binding Documents

  1. Select Comb: Choose a binding comb appropriate for your document thickness. The machine can bind up to 150 sheets with a 3/4-inch comb. Use the integrated document measurement device in the comb storage tray to select the correct comb size.
  2. Place Comb: Position the binding comb onto the metal fingers of the binding mechanism, ensuring the comb's teeth are facing upwards and open.
  3. Open Comb: Pull the binding lever (located on the side) towards you to open the comb's teeth wide enough to accommodate your punched pages.
  4. Load Pages: Carefully feed your punched documents onto the open teeth of the comb. Start with the back cover, then the pages, and finally the front cover.
  5. Close Comb: Push the binding lever away from you to close the comb, securing all the pages.
  6. Remove Document: Lift your newly bound document from the machine.
