1. Introduction

The Accu-Chek FastClix Lancets are designed for use with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device to obtain a small blood sample for blood glucose testing. These lancets are pre-set in a drum, eliminating the need to handle individual needles, which enhances safety and convenience. Each drum contains 6 sterile lancets, and this package includes 102 lancets, provided in 17 drums.

2. Setup

2.1 Loading the Lancet Drum

To prepare your Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device for use, follow these steps to load a new lancet drum:

  1. Remove the cap from your Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device.
  2. Insert a new drum of 6 pre-set FastClix lancets into the empty device. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  3. Replace the cap onto the lancing device.

2.2 Adjusting Lancing Depth

The Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device offers 11 customizable depth settings to ensure comfortable and effective blood sampling. To adjust the depth:

3. Operation

3.1 Performing a Blood Glucose Test

Once the lancet drum is loaded and the depth is set, you can perform a blood glucose test:

  1. Prepare Your Hands: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry them completely.
  2. Prepare the Lancing Device: Ensure the lancing device is primed. The Accu-Chek FastClix device typically primes with a single click.
  3. Obtain Blood Sample: Place the lancing device firmly against the side of your fingertip. Press the release button to activate the lancet and obtain a blood drop.
  4. Apply Blood to Test Strip: Gently squeeze your finger to form a round drop of blood. Apply the blood sample to the designated area of your test strip (used with a compatible blood glucose meter).

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Lancing Device

4.2 Disposing of Used Lancet Drums

After all 6 lancets in a drum have been used, the drum should be safely disposed of. Do not attempt to reuse lancets or lancet drums. Place used drums in a puncture-resistant sharps container immediately after use. Follow local regulations for proper disposal of sharps waste.
