1. Introduction
The Xawy MA500 is a monophonic (single channel) amplifier designed for high-fidelity audio systems. This amplifier delivers high power into both 8-ohm and 4-ohm loads, ensuring robust performance even with demanding audio signals. Its compact design allows for flexible placement while providing reliable operation for years. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your MA500 amplifier.

2. Safety Information
Please read all safety instructions before operating the amplifier. Retain this manual for future reference.
- Power Source: Connect the amplifier only to an AC power source as specified on the unit's rear panel (AC 120V 60Hz).
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings. Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clear space around the unit.
- Water and Moisture: Do not expose the amplifier to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
- Heat: Do not place the amplifier near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Cleaning: Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth only.
- Grounding: The amplifier is equipped with a three-prong grounding-type plug. This plug will only fit into a grounding-type power outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding plug.
3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.
3.2 Placement
Place the amplifier on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation to prevent overheating. Avoid placing the amplifier in direct sunlight or near heat-generating components.

3.3 Connections
Before making any connections, ensure the amplifier is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet.
- Audio Input: Connect the audio output from your pre-amplifier or audio source to the input jacks on the rear of the MA500. Use high-quality RCA cables for optimal signal transfer.
- Speaker Output: Connect your speaker cables to the binding posts on the rear of the amplifier. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for each speaker. Tighten the binding posts securely.
- Power Connection: Once all audio and speaker connections are made, plug the amplifier's power cord into a suitable AC outlet.

4. Operation
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on the amplifier, press the power button located on the front panel. The power indicator light will illuminate. To power off, press the power button again. It is recommended to power on your pre-amplifier or source components before the MA500, and power off the MA500 before other components, to prevent transient noises.
4.2 Integration with Pre-amplifier
The MA500 is a power amplifier and requires a pre-amplifier or a source with variable output to control the volume. Adjust the volume level using your pre-amplifier. Start with a low volume setting and gradually increase it to a comfortable listening level.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Dust the amplifier regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
- Ventilation: Periodically check that the ventilation grilles are free from dust and obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
- Connections: Occasionally check all cable connections to ensure they are secure.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your MA500 amplifier, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Power cord not connected; outlet not active; amplifier fuse blown. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged in. Test the outlet with another device. If the fuse is suspected, contact qualified service personnel. |
| No sound | Input cables loose or incorrect; speaker cables loose or incorrect; pre-amplifier/source not active or muted. | Check all audio input and speaker connections. Verify pre-amplifier and source component operation and volume settings. |
| Distorted sound | Input signal too high; speaker impedance mismatch; faulty cables. | Reduce input level from pre-amplifier. Ensure speakers are compatible with amplifier's impedance range. Try different cables. |
| Amplifier overheats | Insufficient ventilation; prolonged high-volume operation. | Ensure adequate space around the unit for airflow. Reduce listening volume. If overheating persists, power off and allow to cool, then check for obstructions. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
