Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your VTech Trimstyle CD1103 telephone.

1. Connect the Telephone Line: Locate the telephone line cord with the RJ11 plug, which is integrated into the phone. Plug this cord into a standard telephone wall jack.
2. Placement:
   • Table Mount: Place the telephone on a flat, stable surface.
   • Wall Mount: The telephone is designed to be wall-mountable. Secure the base to a wall phone plate (not included) using appropriate hardware.
3. Initial Check: Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone. If no dial tone is present, ensure the telephone line cord is securely connected at both ends.

Note: This telephone does not require external AC power or batteries to operate, making it functional during power outages.

Operating Your Telephone

Making a Call

1. Lift the handset.
2. Listen for a dial tone.
3. Dial the desired telephone number using the keypad.
4. Wait for the call to connect.
5. To end the call, place the handset back on the base.

Receiving a Call

1. When the telephone rings, lift the handset to answer.
2. To end the call, place the handset back on the base.

Last Number Redial

To redial the last number dialed:

1. Lift the handset.
2. Press the REDIAL button. The telephone will automatically dial the last number.

Flash Function (Call Waiting)

If you subscribe to Call Waiting service from your telephone company, you can use the Flash button to switch between calls.

1. During a call, if you hear a call waiting tone, press the FLASH button to switch to the incoming call.
2. Press FLASH again to return to the original call.

Ringer Control

The telephone features a Ringer ON/OFF switch located on the handset.

• Slide the switch to ON to enable the ringer.
• Slide the switch to OFF to disable the ringer.

Receiver Volume Control

Adjust the listening volume during a call using the volume control switch on the side of the handset.

• Slide the switch to LO for low volume.
• Slide the switch to MED for medium volume.
• Slide the switch to HI for high volume.

Tone/Pulse Dialing

The telephone supports both Tone (DTMF) and Pulse dialing. Most modern telephone systems use Tone dialing. If you are unsure, consult your telephone service provider.

• Slide the TT/DP switch (Tone/Pulse) to TT for Tone dialing.
• Slide the TT/DP switch to DP for Pulse dialing.

Care and Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the telephone with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Environment: Do not expose the telephone to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, or extreme temperatures.
• Storage: If storing the telephone for an extended period, ensure it is in a cool, dry place.
