Introduction
The Antennas Direct ClearStream 4 UHF TV antenna is designed to receive over-the-air broadcast television signals. This multi-directional antenna utilizes four patented loops to capture UHF signals from broadcast towers up to 70+ miles away. It is compatible with NEXTGEN TV, 4K, 8K UHD, and Full HD 1080p, providing free local TV without requiring an internet connection. The antenna is suitable for indoor, attic, or outdoor installation, making it versatile for various environments, especially suburban and rural areas where signal interference from foliage or building materials can be a concern. Reflectors are included to enhance forward gain and protect the incoming TV signal from interference, which helps prevent pixelation or complete loss of picture.
Safety Information
- Electrical Safety: Always exercise caution when working with electrical components. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Working at Heights: If installing outdoors or in an attic, use appropriate safety equipment such as ladders, harnesses, and secure footing. Work with a partner if possible.
- Weather Conditions: Avoid installation during severe weather conditions, including high winds, lightning, or heavy rain.
- Cable Management: Securely route coaxial cables to prevent tripping hazards and damage.

Setup and Installation
1. Antenna Assembly
- Position Loop Elements: Place the loop elements so that the Antennas Direct logo on each is in the same orientation.
- Attach Combiner Bars: Turn the loop elements over. Attach the combiner bars to each terminal on the back of each loop element using the supplied wingnuts.
- Fit Circular Base to Reflector: For each loop element, fit the circular base to the reflector. Align the hole in the base to the hole in the reflector support.
- Attach Bars to Reflector: Attach the two bars to each reflector by removing the back clamp. Thread the screw through the holes in the top and bottom of the reflector's aluminum bar. Reattach the clamp and finish assembly with the wingnut.
- Secure Reflector to Loop Elements: Thread the supplied bolt through the reflector's aluminum bar and pass it through the hole in the base of the loop elements. Tighten securely.
2. J-Mount Mast Assembly
- Attach the J-mount mast to the mount base using the hex bolts and nuts. Tighten securely with a ratcheting driver.
3. Pre-Installation Testing and Placement
Before permanent outdoor installation, it is crucial to test the antenna in a location that offers the clearest possible view towards broadcast towers. Avoid areas with tall trees or buildings that could obstruct the signal. Use the Antenna Point website or app to find your nearest digital TV transmitters and their precise compass headings. This will help you determine the optimal direction for your antenna.

4. Outdoor Mounting (Roof/Wall)
- Mark Position: Mark the mast base position on your desired surface (e.g., roof, wall).
- Drill Holes: Drill 1.5-inch deep holes with a 3/16-inch drill bit for each mounting bolt.
- Apply Sealing Pads: Place sealing pads over each drilled hole. Push an indentation into each pad to align with the holes.
- Secure Base: Place the J-mount base on top of the sealing pads and use a ratchet or drill to tighten the bolts, securing the base to the surface.
- Adjust Mast: Before installing the antenna, ensure the mast is adjusted to be vertical.

5. Final Antenna Attachment
- Slide the assembled antenna over the top of the J-mount mast.
- Loosely tighten the antenna into place using the adjustable mast clamp.
- Place the mount base end cap onto the J-mount mast.
6. Connecting to Your TV
- Connect one end of a coaxial cable (not included) to the antenna's output.
- Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the 'Antenna In' or 'RF In' port on your television.
Operating Instructions
Channel Scan
- Turn on your television and navigate to the 'Settings' or 'Menu' option.
- Select 'Channel Setup' or 'Input Source'.
- Ensure your input is set to 'Antenna' or 'Air'.
- Initiate an 'Auto Channel Search' or 'Auto Program'. This process may take several minutes.
- Once the scan is complete, your TV will display the available channels.
Note: It is important to re-scan your TV for available channels after the antenna is fully installed and if you reposition the antenna.
Maintenance
- Periodic Inspection: Periodically check the antenna and mounting hardware for any signs of wear, corrosion, or loosening, especially after severe weather.
- Cleanliness: Keep the antenna free from excessive dirt, debris, or ice buildup, which can affect performance. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent if necessary.
- Cable Integrity: Inspect coaxial cables for cracks, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables to maintain signal quality.
Troubleshooting
- No Signal or Poor Picture Quality:
- Ensure all coaxial cable connections are tight and secure.
- Verify your TV's input source is set to 'Antenna' or 'Air'.
- Perform a new channel scan on your TV.
- Reposition the antenna slightly and perform another channel scan. Even small adjustments can improve reception.
- Check for obstructions (trees, buildings) between your antenna and the broadcast towers.
- Consider adding an amplifier if you are in a weak signal area or splitting the signal to multiple TVs.
- Missing Channels:
- Perform a fresh channel scan.
- Use the Antenna Point app/website to confirm the direction of local broadcast towers and adjust your antenna accordingly.
