1. Introduction

The Behringer EUROLIVE B615D is a high-power, 2-way active PA speaker system designed for live sound reinforcement and playback applications. This compact and lightweight system delivers excellent sound quality even at extreme sound pressure levels. It incorporates revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology for incredible power and sonic performance.

Key features include an integrated sound processor for superior system control and speaker protection, and an internal switch-mode power supply for noise-free audio, superior transient response, and very low power consumption.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read these instructions thoroughly before operating the product.
  • Keep these instructions for future reference.
  • Heed all warnings on the product and in the operating instructions.
  • Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture.
  • Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

3. Unpacking and Inspection

Upon receiving your Behringer EUROLIVE B615D, carefully unpack the unit and inspect it for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. If damage is found, notify your dealer immediately. Retain the original packing materials for future shipping or storage.

4. Setup

4.1 Placement

The B615D speaker can be placed on a flat, stable surface, used as a floor monitor, or mounted on a standard speaker pole. Ensure the placement is stable and secure to prevent accidental tipping.

4.2 Connections

Connect your audio source (mixer, microphone, instrument) to the INPUT section on the rear panel using an XLR cable. The B615D features an XLR input for balanced audio signals. An OUTPUT connector is also available for linking multiple speakers or sending the signal to another device.

4.3 Power Connection

Connect the supplied power cable to the POWER inlet on the rear panel and then to a suitable AC power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting to power. The speaker operates on 230 Volts AC.

5. Operation

5.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the speaker, ensure all connections are secure, then flip the POWER switch to the ON position. The power indicator LED will illuminate. To power off, flip the switch to the OFF position.

5.2 Input Level Adjustment

Use the LEVEL knob on the rear panel to adjust the overall volume of the speaker. Start with the level set low and gradually increase it to the desired volume, monitoring for any distortion.

5.3 Equalizer Controls

The B615D features a 2-band equalizer with HIGH and LOW controls. These allow you to fine-tune the treble and bass frequencies to suit your audio source and acoustic environment. Adjust these controls incrementally to achieve the desired tonal balance.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the speaker, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish and internal components. Ensure the unit is unplugged from the power source before cleaning.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a dry, dust-free environment. It is recommended to use the original packaging for protection during storage or transport.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Sound

  • Check if the speaker is powered on and the power indicator LED is lit.
  • Ensure the LEVEL knob is turned up.
  • Verify that the audio source is functioning correctly and its output level is sufficient.
  • Check all audio cables for proper connection and integrity. Try a different cable if necessary.

7.2 Distorted Sound

  • Reduce the LEVEL knob on the speaker.
  • Check the output level of your audio source; it might be too high.
  • Adjust the HIGH and LOW EQ controls to see if the distortion is frequency-specific.
  • Ensure cables are not damaged or improperly connected.

7.3 Power Issues

  • Verify the power cable is securely connected to both the speaker and the wall outlet.
  • Check if the wall outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
  • Inspect the power cable for any damage.
