Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover, typically on the handle.
  2. Open the cover.
  3. Insert the included 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The device requires one 9V battery for operation. Ensure the battery is properly installed before use.

Operating Instructions

Taking a Measurement

  1. Point the thermometer at the target object.
  2. Press and hold the trigger to activate the laser and begin measurement. The laser dot indicates the center of the measurement area.
  3. The temperature reading will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  4. Release the trigger to hold the reading on the display.

Distance to Spot Ratio (D:S)

The ATD Tools 70001 has a Distance to Spot ratio of 12:1. This means that at a distance of 12 inches from the target, the measurement area (spot) will be 1 inch in diameter. To ensure accurate readings, position the thermometer at an appropriate distance from the target so that the measurement spot is entirely within the object being measured.

Automatic Power Off

The thermometer features an automatic power-off function to conserve battery life. The device will power off after a period of inactivity (approximately 10-15 seconds after releasing the trigger).

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the thermometer, wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the lens and sensor are kept clean for accurate readings.

Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery following the installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.
