4.2 Connecting to a Television

To record from an external source like a cable box or digital converter box, use the AV IN connections:
- Connect an S-Video cable from the S-Video OUT of your cable/converter box to the S-VIDEO IN on the Insignia unit.
- Connect RCA audio cables (red/white) from the Audio OUT of your cable/converter box to the AV IN AUDIO jacks on the Insignia unit.
- Alternatively, use composite video (yellow RCA) from the Video OUT of your cable/converter box to the AV IN VIDEO jack on the Insignia unit.
4.4 Power Connection
Once all audio/video connections are made, plug the power cord into a standard AC wall outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic DVD Playback
- Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
- Press the DVD/VCR button to select DVD mode.
- Press the Eject button to open the DVD tray.
- Place a DVD disc onto the tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the Eject button again to close the tray.
- The disc should begin playing automatically. If not, press the Play button.
5.2 Basic VCR Playback
