6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Cuisinart Deluxe Electric Griddler, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Unit not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working 110V outlet. Check if the selector knob is turned to an ON position (Griddle or Grill/Panini).
- Plates not heating: Verify that the temperature control knobs are set to a desired temperature and not OFF or WARM. Allow sufficient time for preheating (red light to green light).
- Food sticking to plates: Ensure plates are clean and lightly oiled before use. The nonstick coating may wear over time with heavy use; ensure proper cleaning and avoid metal utensils.
- Uneven cooking: Check that the plates are properly seated and clicked into place. Ensure the Griddler is on a flat, stable surface.
- Excessive smoke: This may occur if there is grease buildup on the heating elements or if the plates are not clean. Ensure the unit is clean before use.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, please contact Cuisinart Customer Service for further assistance.
