Setup
1. Install Batteries
For optimal performance, use high-quality alkaline batteries. Lithium batteries are recommended for outdoor sensors in regions with temperatures below -4°F (-20°C).
- Wireless Outdoor Sensor: Remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 x AA batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-). Replace the cover.
- Digital Display Unit: Remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 3 x AA batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-). Replace the cover.
Note: The display unit has a built-in battery backup for date/time display. Ensure batteries are installed correctly for initial setup and continuous operation.
2. Set Time Zone
After battery installation, the display unit's self-setting clock will attempt to synchronize. You may need to manually select your time zone. Refer to the "Operating Instructions" section for details on adjusting settings.
3. Synchronization
Once batteries are installed in both units, the display unit will automatically search for the wireless sensor's signal. This process may take a few minutes. Ensure both units are within range of each other during setup.
Operating Instructions
Display Unit Overview
The display unit features a clear digital screen showing indoor and outdoor temperatures, time, date, and daily high/low records. Buttons on the front allow for setting adjustments and viewing historical data.
- LOW Button: View minimum temperature records.
- SET Button: Access settings menu for time, date, and time zone adjustments.
- HIGH Button: View maximum temperature records.
Temperature Display
The display shows current indoor and outdoor temperatures. It also tracks and displays the daily high and low temperatures for both indoor and outdoor environments. These records typically reset every 24 hours.
Self-Setting Clock
The integrated clock automatically sets itself to the correct time and date. Ensure the correct time zone is selected during setup for accurate time display.
Freeze Indicator
The display unit may feature a freeze indicator icon, which appears when outdoor temperatures approach freezing point, alerting you to potential icy conditions.
Placement Guidelines
Digital Display Unit
Place the display unit indoors in a central location where it can be easily viewed. Avoid placing it near heat sources (e.g., direct sunlight, heating vents, appliances) or cold sources (e.g., air conditioners, drafts) that could affect its indoor temperature readings.
Wireless Outdoor Sensor
Proper placement of the outdoor sensor is crucial for accurate temperature readings and optimal wireless signal transmission. Consider the following:
- Shaded Location: Always place the sensor in a shaded area to prevent direct sunlight from artificially inflating temperature readings.
- Away from Heat/Cold Sources: Avoid placing the sensor near exhaust vents, air conditioning units, or other sources of heat or cold.
- Optimal Height: Mount the sensor approximately 5-6 feet (1.5-1.8 meters) above the ground.
- Wireless Range: Ensure the sensor is within 330 feet (100 meters) of the display unit. Walls, large metal objects, and electronic devices can reduce wireless range.
- Protection from Elements: While designed for outdoor use, protecting the sensor from direct rain and snow can extend its lifespan.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries in both the display unit and wireless sensor approximately every 6-12 months, or when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time with new ones. Clean battery contacts before installation.
Cleaning
Wipe the display unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the plastic components or electronic parts. Ensure no moisture enters the battery compartments.
