Setup and Assembly
Before initial use and after each use, clean and sanitize all parts that come into contact with breast milk. Refer to the 'Cleaning and Maintenance' section for detailed instructions.
Assembly Steps:
- Insert Valve: Firmly push the valve onto the bottom of the pump body. Ensure it is securely seated.
- Attach Bottle: Screw the 5 oz collection bottle onto the bottom of the pump body until secure.
- Place Diaphragm: Position the silicone diaphragm onto the top of the pump body, ensuring a tight seal around the edges.
- Attach Handle: Align the handle with the diaphragm and pump body, then press down firmly to secure it. The MemoryFlex fastener should connect the handle to the diaphragm.
- Attach Breast Flange: Push the breast flange onto the front of the pump body. If using the smaller size, insert the soft silicone reducing insert into the breast flange first.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective and comfortable milk expression:
- Prepare for Pumping: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Find a comfortable and private place to pump.
- Position the Flange: Center your nipple in the middle of the breast flange tunnel. Ensure the flange forms a complete seal around your breast.
- Initiate Suction: Gently squeeze the pump handle to create suction. You should feel a gentle pull on your nipple. Do not squeeze the handle all the way if it causes discomfort.
- Express Milk: Release the handle to break the suction. Repeat the squeeze-and-release motion in a rhythmic pattern, mimicking your baby's suckling. Start with a faster, lighter rhythm to stimulate let-down, then switch to a slower, deeper rhythm once milk begins to flow.
- Collect Milk: Milk will flow into the attached 5 oz bottle. Continue pumping until your breast feels empty or milk flow significantly slows.
- Switch Sides: If pumping from both breasts, switch sides when milk flow slows on one side.
- After Pumping: Carefully remove the breast flange from your breast. Disassemble the pump and clean all parts immediately.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for hygiene and the longevity of your breast pump.
Cleaning After Each Use:
- Disassemble: Take apart all components of the breast pump.
- Rinse: Rinse all parts that came into contact with breast milk under cool running water to remove any milk residue.
- Wash: Wash all parts in warm, soapy water using a mild dish soap. Use a clean brush specifically for breast pump parts.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse all parts again under clear running water to remove all soap residue.
- Air Dry: Place parts on a clean paper towel or drying rack and allow them to air dry completely. Do not use a cloth towel, as it may transfer germs.
Sanitizing (Once Daily or as Needed):
- Boiling: Place disassembled, cleaned parts in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Ensure parts do not touch the bottom or sides of the pot to prevent damage.
- Dishwasher: All components are dishwasher safe. Place parts on the top rack of your dishwasher. Use a hot wash cycle and a heated drying cycle, or allow to air dry completely.
Storage: Store clean, dry pump parts in a clean, covered container or bag until the next use.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low or no suction | Improper assembly, damaged diaphragm/valve, flange not sealed | Check all connections for a tight seal. Ensure diaphragm and valve are correctly seated and undamaged. Reposition flange on breast. |
| Discomfort during pumping | Incorrect flange size, excessive suction, improper nipple alignment | Ensure nipple is centered in flange. Adjust suction by not squeezing handle fully. Try the smaller silicone insert if needed. |
| Milk flow is slow or stops | Not fully let-down, breast not empty, pump rhythm too fast/slow | Relax and try to stimulate let-down. Adjust pumping rhythm. Ensure proper hydration. |
