2. Safety Information
Observe all warnings and instructions marked on the projector and in this manual. Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Do not place the projector on an unstable cart, stand, or table.
- Do not look directly into the projector lens when the lamp is on.

The InFocus LP425z is a portable DLP projector designed for various applications, including home cinema and presentations. It features 900 ANSI lumens brightness and a 400:1 contrast ratio, delivering clear images with an 800x600 native resolution.
4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the projector and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present:
- InFocus LP425z Projector
- Power Cord
- Remote Control (if included)
- VGA Cable (if included)
4.2 Placement
Position the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The projector can display images from 28.9 to 227.3 inches diagonally, with a throw distance ranging from 5.0 to 30.0 feet. Adjust the projector's distance from the screen to achieve the desired image size.
4.3 Connecting Devices
The LP425z offers various input options for connecting to your source devices.

- Video Input: Connect a video source (e.g., DVD player, VCR) to the composite video (RCA) inputs.
- Computer Input: Connect a computer to the VGA input port.
- Audio Input: Connect audio cables to the corresponding audio input jacks if your source device provides separate audio.
4.4 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to the projector's power input socket and then plug the other end into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the main power switch (located near the power input) is in the 'Off' (O) position before connecting.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- Ensure all cables are securely connected.
- Flip the main power switch (Figure 3) to the 'On' (I) position.
- Press the Power button on the projector's control panel or remote control. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- To power off, press the Power button again. The projector will enter a cool-down cycle before fully shutting down. Do not unplug the projector during the cool-down cycle.
5.2 Using the Control Panel

The control panel on top of the projector (Figure 4) allows you to manage various settings:
- Power Button: Turns the projector on or off.
- Menu Button: Accesses the on-screen display (OSD) menu.
- Navigation Buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right): Used to navigate through menu options and adjust settings.
- Select/Enter Button: Confirms selections in the OSD menu.
- Volume +/-: Adjusts the audio output level.
- Source/Input Button: Cycles through available input sources.
5.3 Adjusting Focus and Zoom
The InFocus LP425z features manual focus and zoom controls. These are typically rings located around the projector lens (Figure 1).
- Focus: Rotate the focus ring until the image appears sharp and clear on the screen.
- Zoom: Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the size of the projected image without moving the projector. The zoom ratio is 1.30:1.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Lamp Replacement
The projector uses a 270W Metal Halide lamp with an estimated life of 1000 hours. When the lamp life is nearing its end, a warning message may appear, or the image brightness may significantly decrease. Refer to the label on the bottom of the projector for specific lamp replacement instructions (Figure 5).

Warning: To replace the lamp, ensure the projector is unplugged and has cooled down completely. High pressure lamp can explode if handled improperly. Refer to qualified service personnel if unsure.
6.2 Cleaning
- Projector Casing: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Lens: Use a lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid touching the lens with your fingers.
- Ventilation Openings: Periodically check and clean the ventilation openings to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
7. Troubleshooting
