1. Introduction and Overview
This manual provides essential information for the proper use and care of your MIDO Baroncelli MIDO-M76004188 automatic watch. This timepiece features a Swiss automatic movement, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a stainless steel case with a brown leather strap. It is designed for reliability and precision.

2. Setup and Initial Winding
Your MIDO automatic watch is powered by the motion of your wrist. Before wearing it for the first time, or if it has stopped, it requires initial winding.
- Manual Winding: Unscrew the crown (if applicable) and then turn it clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the movement.
- Setting the Time: Pull the crown out to the outermost position. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the date changes at midnight, not noon, by advancing the time past 12 o'clock to observe the date change.
- Setting the Date: Push the crown in one click to the intermediate position. Turn the crown to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this period, first set the time outside this window, then set the date, and finally reset the time.
- Finalizing: Once time and date are set, push the crown back into its original position and screw it down tightly (if applicable) to ensure water resistance.

3. Operating Your Automatic Watch
Your MIDO Baroncelli watch is equipped with a Swiss automatic movement. This means it does not require a battery. The movement is powered by a rotor that winds the mainspring as you wear the watch and move your wrist. A full power reserve typically lasts for approximately 38-40 hours when fully wound.
- Daily Wear: For optimal performance, wear your watch regularly. Consistent wrist movement will keep the watch wound.
- Power Reserve: If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply re-wind it manually as described in Section 2, or wear it for several hours to build up the power reserve.

4. Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your MIDO watch.
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and sapphire crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. Clean gently with a damp cloth if necessary and allow to air dry.
- Water Resistance: Your watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This rating makes it suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or high-impact water sports. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in and screwed down (if applicable) before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers underwater.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below 0°C / 32°F) or sudden temperature changes.
- Magnetic Fields: Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices) as these can affect the accuracy of the mechanical movement.
- Service: It is recommended to have your automatic watch serviced by an authorized MIDO service center every 3-5 years to maintain its performance and water resistance.

5. Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped: The power reserve may be depleted. Manually wind the watch (30-40 turns of the crown) or wear it for several hours.
- Watch is running fast or slow: Minor deviations are normal for mechanical watches. If the deviation is significant, the watch may need demagnetization or regulation by a professional.
- Date not changing at midnight: This indicates the time is set incorrectly (e.g., AM/PM confusion). Re-set the time, ensuring the date changes when the hour hand passes 12 o'clock for midnight.
- Condensation under the crystal: This indicates a loss of water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
