Setup

Initial Activation

Upon receiving your watch, ensure any plastic tab or collar preventing the crown from being fully depressed is removed. This tab is typically located behind the crown and must be removed to activate the watch's movement and begin timekeeping.

Setting Time and Date

  1. Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2 for setting the date, or position 3 for setting the time.
  2. Set the Date: In position 2, turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date.
  3. Set the Time: In position 3, turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate time, set the time a few minutes ahead and then push the crown back in when the official time catches up.
  4. Push the Crown In: Once the time and date are set, push the crown fully back into position 1 to engage the movement and start the watch.

Adjusting the Strap

The genuine leather strap is adjustable to fit various wrist sizes. Use the buckle to find a comfortable and secure fit. For new leather straps, gentle flexing can help with break-in and comfort.

Maintenance

Water Resistance

Your Timex Expedition watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This means it is suitable for recreational swimming and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.

Cleaning

Clean your watch regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If the leather becomes wet, allow it to air dry naturally. Periodically, a leather conditioner can be applied to maintain its suppleness.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a Lithium Metal battery. When the battery needs replacement, it is recommended to take your watch to an authorized Timex service center or a qualified watch repair professional to ensure proper sealing and water resistance are maintained.
