  • Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Allow adequate space around the unit for proper airflow to prevent overheating.
  • Water and Moisture: Do not expose the subwoofer to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
  • Heat: Keep the unit away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth only.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

5. Setup

5.1 Placement

The placement of your subwoofer significantly impacts its performance. Consider the following:

  • Corner Placement: Placing the subwoofer in a corner often provides the most output and impact, but can sometimes lead to boomy bass.
  • Wall Placement: Placing it along a wall, away from corners, can offer a more balanced bass response.
  • Listening Position: Experiment with different locations by temporarily placing the subwoofer in your primary listening position and then moving around the room to find where the bass sounds best. Place the subwoofer in that spot.
  • Proximity to Main Speakers: For optimal blending, try to place the subwoofer near your front main speakers.

5.2 Connections

Before making any connections, ensure the subwoofer and your audio receiver/amplifier are turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.

  1. LFE Input (Recommended): If your receiver has a dedicated Subwoofer Output (LFE or Sub Out), connect a single RCA cable from this output on your receiver to the LFE input on the subwoofer.
  2. Stereo RCA Inputs: If your receiver does not have an LFE output, connect RCA cables from your receiver's pre-out (left and right) to the corresponding left and right RCA inputs on the subwoofer.
  3. Power Connection: Once audio connections are made, connect the supplied power cord to the subwoofer's power inlet and then to a suitable 230V AC wall outlet.

5.3 Initial Settings

After connecting, power on your receiver and the subwoofer. Adjust the following controls on the subwoofer's rear panel:

  • Volume/Gain: Start with the volume control set to its minimum position. Gradually increase it until the subwoofer's output blends smoothly with your main speakers. The bass should not sound overpowering.
  • Crossover Frequency: This control determines the highest frequency the subwoofer will reproduce. If using the LFE input, your receiver typically manages the crossover, and you can set the subwoofer's crossover to its maximum or 'Bypass' setting. If using stereo RCA inputs, set the crossover frequency slightly above the lowest frequency your main speakers can reproduce. A common starting point is 80 Hz.
  • Phase: The phase control (0° or 180°) helps ensure the subwoofer's sound waves are in sync with your main speakers. Listen to music with strong bass and switch between 0° and 180°. Choose the setting that provides the most impactful and coherent bass.
  • Auto On/Off: The subwoofer may feature an auto-sensing power mode. When enabled, the subwoofer will automatically turn on when an audio signal is detected and enter standby mode after a period of inactivity.

6. Operating

Once setup is complete, the subwoofer operates in conjunction with your audio system. Fine-tune the settings as needed for different content:

  • Music Listening: For music, aim for a tight, articulate bass that complements the main speakers without drawing attention to the subwoofer's location. Adjust the volume and crossover for a balanced sound.
  • Home Theater: For movies, you might prefer a more impactful bass. Adjust the volume slightly higher if desired, but avoid excessive levels that could lead to distortion.
  • Power Modes: Utilize the auto on/off feature for convenience. If you prefer to manually control power, ensure the subwoofer is turned off when not in use.

7. Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your subwoofer:

  • Cleaning the Cabinet: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the cabinet. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Grille Care: The fabric grille can be gently vacuumed to remove dust. If the grille is removable, handle it carefully to avoid damaging the fabric or mounting pegs.
  • Driver Inspection: Periodically inspect the subwoofer driver for any signs of damage or dust accumulation. Do not touch the driver cone directly.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the subwoofer's ventilation ports remain clear of obstructions.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your subwoofer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
