Setup
Battery Installation
The LeapFrog Letter Factory Phonics requires three AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the unit.
- Using a screwdriver, open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert three new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
Note: Always use fresh batteries and dispose of old batteries responsibly.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Volume Control
Locate the sliding switch on the unit. This switch allows you to select the desired volume setting (high, low) or turn the unit off.
Learning Letter Names and Sounds
- Select one of the 26 letter tiles.
- Place the letter tile into the designated slot on the Letter Factory reader.
- Press the tile into place. The unit will play a song about the letter and its corresponding sound.
- Repeat this process with each letter tile to learn all letters of the alphabet.
This tactile interaction helps children associate the physical letter with its sound and name.
Playing the Alphabet Song
An additional button located atop the unit allows children to hear the complete Alphabet Song, reinforcing their learning.
Automatic Shut-Off
To conserve battery power, the Letter Factory Phonics unit will automatically shut off after 15 seconds of inactivity.
