2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The VTech Brilliant Creations Color Touch Tablet requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the tablet.
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover.
- Remove the cover.
- Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring they are inserted with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw securely.
Important: Always use new batteries of the recommended type. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove exhausted batteries promptly.

After installing the batteries, press the ON/OFF button, typically located on the top right of the tablet, to power on the device. The screen will illuminate, and the tablet will begin its startup sequence.
