7. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens brush to gently remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning solution applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Cleaning the Camera Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures. Charge the battery fully before extended use.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery and store the camera in a dry, well-ventilated area, preferably with a desiccant to prevent mold.
8. Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Check if the battery contacts are clean.
- Images Are Blurry: Check your focus mode and ensure the lens is clean. In low light, increase ISO or use the flash. Ensure VR (Vibration Reduction) is enabled on the lens if available.
- Memory Card Error: Ensure the memory card is inserted correctly. Try reformatting the card (this will erase all data). If the issue persists, try a different memory card.
- Flash Not Firing: Check the flash mode settings. Ensure the flash is popped up if set to auto or fill-flash.
- No Image on LCD: Check if the display mode is set correctly. Ensure the camera is not in viewfinder-only mode.
