Hurom HU-100

Hurom HU-100 Masticating Slow Juicer Instruction Manual

Model: HU-100

1. Introduction

The Hurom HU-100 Masticating Slow Juicer is designed to efficiently extract juice from various fruits, vegetables, nuts, leafy greens, and soybeans. Utilizing patented Slow Squeezing Technology (SST), this juicer operates at 80 RPMs to gently process ingredients, preserving heat-sensitive nutrients and live enzymes. This method results in a higher yield of juice with drier pulp compared to traditional high-speed juicers.

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and care of your Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer.

4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your juicer before first use:

  1. Place the motor base on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Align the juicing bowl with the motor base and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place.
  3. Insert the spinning brush into the juicing bowl, ensuring it sits correctly.
  4. Place the fine strainer inside the spinning brush.
  5. Insert the Ultem auger into the center of the strainer, pushing down firmly until it clicks into place.
  6. Attach the hopper (feeding chute) to the top of the drum assembly, aligning the arrows and rotating clockwise until it locks.
  7. Position the juice container under the juice outlet and the pulp container under the pulp outlet.
  8. Ensure the juice cap is closed before starting to juice.

5. Operating Instructions

Food Preparation:

  • Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
  • Remove hard pits from fruits (e.g., peaches, plums, cherries).
  • Cut ingredients into small pieces that fit easily into the feeding chute. This is especially important for fibrous vegetables like celery and leafy greens to prevent clogging.
  • For citrus fruits, peel them before juicing.

Juicing Process:

  1. Plug the power cord into a 120V electrical outlet.
  2. Turn on the juicer using the power switch.
  3. Slowly feed prepared ingredients into the hopper. Use the pusher only if necessary to gently guide food down. Do not force ingredients.
  4. Allow the juicer to process each piece completely before adding more.
  5. The juice will flow from the juice outlet into the juice container, and the pulp will be expelled from the pulp outlet into the pulp container.
  6. When finished juicing, turn off the juicer and unplug it from the outlet.

Note: The juicer is designed for continuous operation for up to 30 minutes. If juicing for longer periods, allow the motor to cool down before resuming.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your juicer. It is recommended to clean the juicer immediately after each use.

Disassembly:

  1. Ensure the juicer is turned off and unplugged.
  2. Remove the juice and pulp containers.
  3. Rotate the hopper counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
  4. Lift out the auger.
  5. Remove the fine strainer and spinning brush assembly.
  6. Rotate the juicing bowl counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it from the motor base.

Cleaning:

  • Rinse all detachable parts under running water.
  • Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any pulp residue from the strainer and other components.
  • Wash parts with warm, soapy water.
  • Important: Hand wash all parts. Do not place any parts in a dishwasher, as this may cause damage or discoloration.
  • Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water.
  • Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembly or storage.

Reassembly:

Follow the assembly steps in Section 4 in reverse order to reassemble the juicer.
