4. Setup

The CM-6-CH calibration hood is designed for easy attachment to compatible Macurco CO detectors. Follow these general steps for setup:

  1. Ensure your Macurco CM-6 or CM-12 detector is properly installed and powered.
  2. Carefully align the CM-6-CH calibration hood with the sensor area of the detector.
  3. Securely attach the hood to create a sealed environment around the sensor. Refer to your detector's manual for specific attachment points or methods.
  4. Connect the calibration gas cylinder to the inlet port on the calibration hood.

5. Operating the Calibration Hood

The calibration hood facilitates the application of a known concentration of CO gas to the detector's sensor for accurate calibration. Always follow the calibration procedure outlined in your Macurco CM-6 or CM-12 detector's specific user manual.

General Calibration Steps:

  1. With the calibration hood securely attached and the calibration gas connected, initiate the calibration sequence on your Macurco detector.
  2. Open the valve on the calibration gas cylinder to allow the gas to flow into the hood and over the sensor.
  3. Monitor the detector's display and indicators as per its manual until the calibration process is complete.
  4. Once calibration is confirmed, close the gas cylinder valve and remove the calibration hood.

The detector is designed to operate within a temperature range of 0 to 35°C (32 to 95°F) and a CO detection range of 0-200 PPM. Ensure your calibration environment adheres to these specifications for optimal results.

6. Maintenance

The CM-6-CH calibration hood requires minimal maintenance. Keep it clean and free from obstructions to ensure proper sealing during calibration.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues during calibration, consider the following:

For persistent issues, refer to the troubleshooting section of your Macurco CM-6 or CM-12 detector manual or contact Macurco technical support.
