Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your Aruba AP-105. This access point is designed for indoor use and can be mounted on a ceiling or wall.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the AP-105 from its packaging. Verify that all components are present.
  2. Mounting Location: Select a central location for mounting to ensure optimal wireless coverage. Avoid obstructions like metal structures or thick walls.
  3. Physical Installation:
    • Attach the appropriate mounting bracket (not included, typically comes with mounting kit) to the desired surface (ceiling tile, wall).
    • Securely attach the AP-105 to the mounted bracket.
  4. Power Connection: The AP-105 can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) from a compatible switch or injector, or via an optional 12V DC power adapter (not included).
    • For PoE: Connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE-enabled switch or injector to the Ethernet port on the AP-105.
    • For DC Power: Connect the 12V DC power adapter to the power input jack on the AP-105 and plug it into a power outlet.
  5. Network Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network infrastructure (e.g., a non-PoE switch if using DC power, or directly from the PoE switch) to the Ethernet port on the AP-105. This connection provides data connectivity to your Aruba Controller.
