1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your GPX BC232R Portable Top-Loading CD Boombox. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.
The GPX BC232R is a versatile audio device featuring a top-loading CD player, AM/FM radio, and a 3.5mm line-in for connecting external MP3 devices. Its portable design allows for both AC power and battery operation, making it suitable for various environments.

Front Panel Controls:
- Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
- Function Selector: Switches between CD, AM, FM, and AUX modes.
- Volume Control: Adjusts the audio output level.
- Play/Pause Button: Starts or pauses CD playback.
- Stop Button: Stops CD playback.
- Skip/Search Buttons (<< / >>): Skips tracks on CD or tunes radio frequencies. Hold to search.
- Program Button: Used for programming CD tracks.
- Repeat Button: Repeats current track or all tracks on CD.
- LED Display: Shows current mode, track number, or radio frequency.
Rear Panel / Side Controls:
- AM/FM Antenna: Extendable antenna for FM reception; built-in for AM.
- AC Power Input: For connecting the included AC power cable.
- Battery Compartment: Holds 6 C batteries (not included) for portable use.
- 3.5mm Line-in Jack: Connect external audio devices.
- Headphone Jack: For private listening with headphones.
4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Boombox
Your GPX BC232R can be powered by either AC power or batteries.
AC Power:
- Locate the built-in AC power cable.
- Plug the cable into the AC power input on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the cable into a standard AC wall outlet (120V AC, 60Hz).
Battery Power:
For portable use, the boombox requires 6 "C" size batteries (not included).
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 6 "C" size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 CD Player Operation
- Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
- Set the Function Selector to CD mode.
- Open the CD compartment cover by gently lifting it.
- Place a CD onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment cover securely.
- Press the Play/Pause button to begin playback. The track number will appear on the LED display.
- To pause, press the Play/Pause button again. Press it once more to resume.
- To stop playback, press the Stop button.
- To skip to the next track, press the >> button. To go back to the beginning of the current track or previous track, press the << button.
- To search quickly through a track, hold down the << or >> button during playback.
- Program Play: While in Stop mode, press the Program button. The display will show "P01". Use the << or >> buttons to select your desired track, then press Program again to confirm. Repeat for up to 20 tracks. Press Play/Pause to start programmed playback.
- Repeat Play: During playback, press the Repeat button once to repeat the current track. Press it again to repeat all tracks on the CD. Press a third time to cancel repeat mode.

5.2 AM/FM Radio Operation
- Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
- Set the Function Selector to AM or FM mode.
- Extend the telescoping FM antenna for better FM reception. For AM, the antenna is built-in.
- Rotate the Tuning Knob (usually on the side or rear) to select your desired radio station. The frequency will be shown on the LED display.

5.3 Using the 3.5mm Line-in (AUX)
- Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
- Set the Function Selector to AUX mode.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the Line-in Jack on the boombox.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone).
- Start playback on your external device. The audio will play through the boombox speakers.
- Adjust the volume using the Volume Control on the boombox and/or your external device.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches. Store them in their cases when not in use.
- Battery Replacement: If using batteries, replace all 6 "C" batteries when the sound becomes weak or distorted. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
- Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
