4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment, typically at the base of the handle.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the provided AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2. Bit Installation

  1. Select the appropriate 1/4 inch drive bit for your application.
  2. Insert the bit firmly into the screwdriver's drive head until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, pull back the collar (if present) and withdraw the bit.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off

Press the power button (refer to the tool's display for exact location) to turn the screwdriver on. The display will illuminate. To turn off, press and hold the power button, or the tool may automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

5.2. Setting Torque Value

  1. With the screwdriver powered on, use the designated up/down or +/- buttons to adjust the desired torque value.

5.3. Applying Torque

  1. Place the installed bit onto the fastener head.
  2. Apply steady, even pressure and rotate the screwdriver in the desired direction (CW for tightening, CCW for loosening).
  3. The screwdriver will provide an audible click and/or visual indication (e.g., LED light, display change) when the preset torque value is reached.
  4. Stop applying force immediately once the indication occurs to prevent over-torquing.

5.4. Rotation Direction (CW/CCW)

The Westward 6PAF5 supports both clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation. The accuracy specifications differ slightly between directions: +/-2.5% for CW and +/-3.5% for CCW. Always verify the correct rotation direction for your application.

6. Maintenance
