5. Setup
5.1 Mounting
The CLP64RGB10BS comes with two mounting brackets for versatile installation. These brackets can be used to stand the unit on a flat surface or to attach it to a truss or lighting stand using appropriate clamps (not included). Ensure the mounting surface or structure can safely support the weight of the fixture.
5.2 Power Connection
Connect the supplied power cable to the power input on the rear of the unit and then to a standard grounded electrical outlet. The device operates on standard AC power.
5.3 DMX Connection (Optional)
For DMX control, connect a DMX controller to the DMX IN port using a 3-pin DMX cable. If linking multiple units, connect the DMX OUT of the first unit to the DMX IN of the next, and so on. Terminate the last unit in the chain with a DMX terminator if experiencing signal issues.
6. Operating
6.1 Control Panel
The control panel on the rear of the unit (refer to Figure 4.3) features an LED display and three buttons: MODE, UP, and DOWN. These buttons are used to navigate menus and adjust settings.
- MODE: Cycles through the main menu options and confirms selections.
- UP: Increases values or moves up through menu options.
- DOWN: Decreases values or moves down through menu options.
6.2 Operating Modes
The CLP64RGB10BS supports several operating modes:
- DMX Mode: Allows external control via a DMX controller. The unit can be set to 4 or 6 DMX channels.
- Master/Slave Mode: One unit acts as the master, controlling other slave units. Connect DMX OUT of the master to DMX IN of the first slave, and so on.
- Standalone Mode: The unit operates independently using pre-programmed settings or sound-activated programs.
6.3 DMX Channel Modes
The device offers two DMX channel configurations:
- 4-Channel Mode: Typically controls Red, Green, Blue intensity, and Master Dimmer/Strobe.
- 6-Channel Mode: Provides more granular control, often including Red, Green, Blue intensity, Master Dimmer, Strobe, and Color Macros or other effects.
Refer to the DMX occupation diagram printed on the unit (Figure 4.3) for pin assignments: 1: Ground, 2: Signal (-), 3: Signal (+).
6.4 Sound-to-Light Functionality
In Standalone mode, the unit can react to music via its built-in microphone. Use the control panel to select sound-activated programs and adjust sensitivity if available.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal light output and extends the lifespan of the unit. Disconnect power before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior casing.
- For the LED lens, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with a mild glass cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.
7.2 Storage
When not in use, store the PAR headlight in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
