5. Operating Instructions
Before starting, ensure you have read and understood all safety instructions.
- Preparation: Clear the work area of any large stones, roots, or debris. Ensure the soil is not excessively wet or hard.
- Starting the Tiller:
- Connect the tiller to a suitable outdoor extension cord and power outlet.
- Hold the handles firmly with both hands.
- Press and hold the safety switch, then squeeze the operating lever to start the motor. Release the safety switch once the motor is running.
- Tilling Technique:
- Allow the tines to penetrate the soil gradually.
- Guide the tiller forward slowly. For deeper cultivation, you may need to make multiple passes or gently pull the tiller backward towards you.
- Work in overlapping rows to ensure even cultivation.
- Avoid forcing the tiller into extremely hard soil, as this can damage the motor or tines.
- Stopping the Tiller: Release the operating lever. The tines will stop rotating.
- Managing the Power Cord: Always be aware of the power cord's position to avoid cutting it with the tines. Work away from the power outlet, keeping the cord behind you.

- Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the power and clean the tines and motor housing. Remove any soil, grass, or debris that may have accumulated. Use a stiff brush or cloth. Do not use water directly on the motor housing.
- Tine Inspection: Periodically check the tines for wear, damage, or bending. Replace worn or damaged tines immediately.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord and extension cord for cuts, abrasions, or other damage.
- Storage: Store the tiller in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord is neatly coiled and not kinked.
