This image displays the indoor display unit and the outdoor sensor, both white in color, removed from their packaging. The indoor unit shows a digital display with indoor and outdoor temperature readings, along with channel indicators.

Key Features:

  • Digital Wireless Thermometer transmits readings from a remote sensor up to 100 ft (30 meters) away from the indoor base unit.
  • Multiple sensor capability allows monitoring temperatures from up to 3 sensors (additional sensors sold separately, model # 315TX).
  • Displays temperature trend indicators.
  • Switchable between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature units.
  • Displays current indoor and outdoor temperatures.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. Indoor Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the indoor display unit. Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  3. Note: It is recommended to install batteries in the outdoor sensor first, then in the indoor display unit, to facilitate initial pairing.

5.2 Sensor Placement

  • Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, to ensure accurate temperature readings.
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor is within the 100 ft (30m) transmission range of the indoor display unit. Obstacles like thick walls or electronic devices may reduce the effective range.
  • The outdoor sensor is waterproof, but placing it under an overhang or in a sheltered location can prolong its lifespan.

5.3 Pairing (Initial Setup)

Upon battery installation, the indoor unit will automatically attempt to connect with the outdoor sensor. If connection is not established:

  • Ensure both units have fresh batteries and are within range.
  • On the outdoor sensor, select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the channel switch inside the battery compartment.
  • On the indoor display unit, press the "CHANNEL" or "SCAN" button (location may vary) to cycle through channels or initiate a scan for the sensor. The indoor unit can display temperature from up to 3 sensors.
  • Once connected, the outdoor temperature will appear on the indoor display.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Reading Temperatures

  • The indoor temperature is displayed prominently on the upper part of the screen.
  • The outdoor temperature (from the connected sensor) is displayed on the lower part of the screen.

6.2 Switching Temperature Units (°F/°C)

Press the "°F/°C" button (usually located on the back or side of the indoor unit) to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature displays.

6.3 Minimum/Maximum Temperature Memory

The unit records the minimum and maximum temperatures for both indoor and outdoor readings over a period. To view these:

  • Press the "MIN/MAX" button once to display the maximum recorded temperatures.
  • Press the "MIN/MAX" button again to display the minimum recorded temperatures.
  • To clear the MIN/MAX memory, press and hold the "MIN/MAX" button for a few seconds while the MIN/MAX values are displayed.

6.4 Temperature Trend Indicator

An arrow icon on the display indicates the temperature trend:

  • Up Arrow (↑): Temperature is rising.
  • Down Arrow (↓): Temperature is falling.
  • Horizontal Arrow (→): Temperature is stable.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or readings become erratic, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1. It is recommended to replace all batteries at the same time with new ones.

7.2 Cleaning

Wipe the units clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
