6.1. No Dial Tone
- Check Power: Ensure the OBi202 is powered on and the Power LED is solid green.
- Check Internet Connection: Verify that the Internet LED is solid green, indicating an active connection. If not, check your modem/router and Ethernet cable.
- Phone Connection: Ensure your analog phone is correctly plugged into the Phone 1 or Phone 2 port.
- Service Configuration: Log into your OBiTALK portal to confirm that your VoIP services are correctly configured and registered.
- Reboot Device: Unplug the power adapter from the OBi202, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
6.2. Poor Call Quality (Echo, Static, Dropped Calls)
- Internet Bandwidth: Ensure your internet connection has sufficient bandwidth, especially during other network activities (streaming, downloads).
- Router QoS: If your router supports Quality of Service (QoS), configure it to prioritize VoIP traffic.
- Ethernet Connection: Use a wired Ethernet connection for the OBi202 instead of Wi-Fi (if using OBiWiFi) for optimal stability.
- VoIP Service Provider: Contact your VoIP service provider to check for any service issues or recommended settings.
6.3. Cannot Make/Receive Calls
- Service Registration: Check the OBiTALK portal to ensure your VoIP services are registered and active.
- Dialing Plan: Verify your dialing plan in the OBiTALK portal. Incorrect dialing rules can prevent calls.
- Firewall Settings: Ensure your router's firewall is not blocking necessary VoIP ports. Consult your router's manual for port forwarding or firewall settings.
6.4. Fax Transmission Issues (T.38)
- T.38 Support: Confirm that your VoIP service provider fully supports the T.38 fax standard.
- Fax Machine Settings: Reduce the baud rate on your fax machine to a lower speed (e.g., 9600 bps) and disable Error Correction Mode (ECM).
