Model: 54013

Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Wiltec Complete Pond Kit. This kit is designed to maintain clean and clear water in ponds up to 12,000 liters, combining efficient filtration, UV clarification, and water circulation.

The kit includes the SunSun CBF-350 biological filter, the SunSun NEO10000 filtration pump, the SunSun CUV-236 UV clarifier, a 25m UV-resistant hose, and the SunSun HJ-943 fountain pump.

Safety Instructions

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before operating the product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are protected from water. Use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for all outdoor electrical outlets.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not allow children to operate this equipment without supervision.
  • The UV lamp emits harmful radiation. Never look directly at the UV lamp when it is operating. Only operate the UV lamp when it is fully enclosed within its housing.
  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water during operation to prevent overheating.
  • Do not lift the pump by its power cord.

Setup and Installation

1. Pond Filter (SunSun CBF-350) Installation

  1. Placement: Position the filter at the edge of the pond, ensuring it is level and stable. The filter should be placed higher than the pond's water level to allow gravity return of filtered water.
  2. Inlet Connection: Connect the hose from the NEO10000 filtration pump to the inlet port of the CBF-350 filter. Secure with a hose clamp.
  3. Outlet Connection: The filtered water exits the filter via an overflow. Ensure the outlet is positioned to return clean water to the pond.
  4. Drainage: The filter has a bottom drain for easy sludge removal. Ensure this drain is accessible.

2. Filtration Pump (SunSun NEO10000) Installation

  1. Placement: Submerge the NEO10000 pump completely in the pond, ideally in the deepest part or where water circulation is needed most.
  2. Hose Connection: Connect one end of the 25mm spiral hose to the outlet of the NEO10000 pump. Secure with a hose clamp.
  3. Filter Connection: Connect the other end of this hose to the inlet of the CBF-350 filter.

3. UV Clarifier (SunSun CUV-236) Installation

  1. Integration: The CUV-236 UV clarifier is designed to be integrated into the filtration line, typically between the pump and the filter.
  2. Hose Connection: Connect the hose from the NEO10000 pump to the inlet of the CUV-236. Connect another section of the 25mm hose from the outlet of the CUV-236 to the inlet of the CBF-350 filter. Secure all connections with hose clamps.
  3. Mounting: The CUV-236 can be mounted horizontally or vertically near the filter.

4. Fountain Pump (SunSun HJ-943) Installation

  1. Placement: Submerge the HJ-943 fountain pump completely in the pond, typically in a central location for optimal fountain display.
  2. Nozzle Attachment: Attach the desired fountain nozzle (included with the pump) to the pump's outlet.
  3. Adjust Height: Adjust the telescopic riser to achieve the desired fountain height.

5. Hose (25m, 25mm) Connection

The included 25m spiral hose is used to connect the filtration pump to the UV clarifier and then to the biological filter. Cut the hose to the required lengths for your specific pond setup. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.

Operating Instructions

  1. Initial Startup: After all components are installed and connected, ensure all pumps are fully submerged and the filter is correctly positioned. Plug in the power cords for the NEO10000 pump, CUV-236 UV clarifier, and HJ-943 fountain pump.
  2. Water Flow: The NEO10000 pump will begin circulating water through the UV clarifier and then into the biological filter. Filtered water will return to the pond by gravity.
  3. Fountain Operation: The HJ-943 pump will create the desired fountain effect.
  4. Continuous Operation: For optimal pond health, it is recommended to operate the filtration system continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the pond season.

Maintenance

1. Biological Filter (CBF-350) Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically check the filter media (coarse and fine filter mats) for clogging. Clean the filter mats by rinsing them with pond water (not tap water, to preserve beneficial bacteria) when flow is reduced or water clarity decreases.
  • Sludge Removal: Use the bottom drain to flush out accumulated sludge. This should be done regularly, depending on pond load.

2. Filtration Pump (NEO10000) Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect power. The pump housing can be opened without tools for easy cleaning of the impeller and pump chamber. Remove any debris, algae, or calcification.
  • Frequency: Clean the pump regularly, especially if flow rate decreases.

3. UV Clarifier (CUV-236) Maintenance

  • UV Lamp Replacement: The UV lamp has a limited lifespan (approx. 8000 operating hours or 1 year). Replace the UV lamp annually, preferably in spring, to ensure effective algae control.
  • Quartz Sleeve Cleaning: Periodically clean the quartz sleeve surrounding the UV lamp. Disconnect power, remove the lamp, and gently clean the sleeve with a soft cloth and mild acid solution (e.g., vinegar) to remove mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Safety: Never operate the UV lamp outside its housing.

4. Fountain Pump (HJ-943) Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect power. Remove the pump from the pond and clean the intake screen and impeller area from debris and algae.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: Clean fountain nozzles regularly to prevent clogging and maintain optimal spray patterns.

5. Hose Maintenance

  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the hose for kinks, damage, or blockages.
  • Cleaning: Flush the hose periodically to remove any accumulated sludge or debris.
