Before using your Coby CSMP49 Portable Speaker System, please follow these setup instructions:

1. Charging the Battery

The speaker system includes a built-in rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. For optimal performance, fully charge the battery before first use.

  1. Locate the mini-USB charging port on the side of the speaker.
  2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the speaker's mini-USB port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a powered USB port (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
  4. The LED indicator light will illuminate during charging and typically change color or turn off when charging is complete. A full charge provides approximately 2.25 hours of playback.

2. Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch (often labeled "OFF/ON") on the side of the speaker. Slide the switch to the "ON" position to power on the device. Slide it to the "OFF" position to power off.

3. Connecting Audio Devices

The CSMP49 offers multiple ways to play audio:

Operating Instructions

1. Audio Playback from External Device (Line-In)

  1. Ensure your external audio device is connected to the speaker's 3.5mm "LINE IN" jack.
  2. Power on the Coby CSMP49 speaker.
  3. Start playback on your external audio device.
  4. Adjust the volume using the volume controls on your external device and/or the volume buttons on the speaker (if available, typically marked with '+' and '-').

2. Audio Playback from SD Card or USB Drive

  1. Insert a compatible SD card or USB drive containing MP3 files into the respective slot.
  2. Power on the Coby CSMP49 speaker. The speaker should automatically detect the media and begin playing the first MP3 file.
  3. Use the control buttons on the speaker:
    • Play/Pause: Press the button (often marked with a play/pause symbol or 'M/II') to pause or resume playback.
    • Next Track: Press the '>>|' button to skip to the next song.
    • Previous Track: Press the '|<<' button to go back to the beginning of the current song or to the previous song.
    • Volume Control: Use the '+' and '-' buttons (often combined with track skip buttons) to adjust the volume.
