3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel

4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Radio
The PR-D6 can be powered by either batteries or the included AC power adapter.
4.1.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the radio.
- Insert 4 C-size batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.1.2 Using the AC Power Adapter
- Connect the AC power adapter to the DC IN jack on the radio.
- Plug the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
- When using the AC adapter, battery power consumption is automatically bypassed.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Turning On/Off and Band Selection
- Slide the Power/Band switch to 'AM' or 'FM' to turn on the radio and select the desired band.
- Slide the switch to 'OFF' to turn off the radio.
5.2 Tuning to a Station
5.2.1 Manual Tuning
- Rotate the Tuning knob on the side of the radio to manually scan through frequencies.
- Observe the analog display for the current frequency.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal FM reception.
5.2.2 Seeking Stations (HD Radio)
The 'HD SEEK +/-' buttons are specifically for seeking HD Radio signals. For general AM/FM scanning, use the Tuning knob on the side.
- Press the Tuning knob (on the side) briefly in the direction you wish to seek (up or down). The radio will automatically scan for the next available strong station.
- Press and hold the Tuning knob to continuously scan through the band. Release when a desired station is found.
5.3 Adjusting Volume and Tone
- Rotate the Volume/Tone knob to adjust the volume.
- Press the Volume/Tone knob to cycle through Volume, Treble, and Bass settings. Rotate the knob to adjust the selected tone setting.
5.4 Using Memory Presets
- Tune to your desired station.
- Press and hold one of the numeric preset buttons (1-5) until the display confirms the station is saved.
- To recall a preset, simply press the corresponding numeric button.
- Use the 'PAGE' button to access additional pages of presets.
5.5 External Audio Connections
- Earphone: Plug 3.5mm headphones into the Earphone jack for private listening.
- AUX IN: Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm audio cable.
- REC OUT: Connect a recording device to the REC OUT jack to record radio broadcasts.
6. Maintenance
- Clean the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- If not using the radio for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Avoid exposing the radio to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check battery installation or AC adapter connection. Ensure batteries are fresh or charged.
- Poor Reception: Extend and adjust the telescopic antenna for FM. For AM, rotate the radio for best reception. Move away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
- No Sound: Check volume level. Ensure headphones are not plugged in if you intend to use the speaker.
- Difficulty Tuning: The analog tuning dial may require fine adjustment. Use the seek function for HD Radio channels.
